also, I want to recommend u jiu yuexi's another novel which will be having a live adaptation soon which is the novel entitle The White Olive Tree. like the novel a lot and expecting a lot for the live action cos Liang Jie is the female lead yasssss

i think i should just watch the movie without thinking that it is based on the novel cos i really cant rewatch this without complaining why they changed this or that lmao

idk how to express it but u knowi cant rewatch this movie cos i think the novel just make more sense as it is the original but this movie is still great

i dont like to be the "the book is better"/"the adaptation is bad" but when u compare the novel and the adaptation, its really different, however this movie is still GOOD

so i first watched this movie a year ago then decided to read the novel the entire day then rewatched again. first things first, this seemed like its not the same story and some relevant parts, characteristics were missing BUT this movie is still 10/10
