I really really like this show, the only thing that bothered me is I don't see any chemistry in the lead couple
oooh i didn’t think that the main pairing would go well together, but after the first episode I changed my mind. The chemistry between those two is insane.
ooooh this is a good romantic thriller. I’m loving it!!!! I didn’t think I needed this genre, but it is FIRE!!!!! hehehehehehe loving every second of it...
This series has by far one of the best FL characters in kdrama land… at first i found her annoying, but soon I grew to really like her. she’s a breath of fresh air in the rom com genre. Every character in this series is fantastic!
I don’t want to sound like a broken record “the original is so much better”, but it is!!! hahahaha
Anyways, I just realized that the Cdrama is a family drama and the Kdrama version is a MELODRAMA. I love melodramas, but just because I have already seen the more realistic and logical version I’m having trouble digesting the over the top emotional and cheesiness that comes with it in this remake. So I totally get why new viewers without the reference of the og are enjoying this series. In a way both versions stand on their own, they just belong to different genres. It just depends on the mood, sensibility and taste of the viewer to gravitate towards one or the other.
lmao you lost any validity saying the cdrama handled the romance better lol. if anything ling xiao came back expecting…
I get it that you like this version, for me is totally creepy… if I put myself in the same situation and my brother/someone who was like my brother comes back and out of the blue, without the build up, tells me that wants to date would find that behaviour out right creepy.
I'm sorry hate me all you want but cdrama ver romance felt more cringey and forced to me just my opinion no hate…
I believe the Cdrama did a better job portraying the family dynamics, the children growing up into adulthood while still keeping their immature nature. Although they are adults by society standards they’re still having trouble finding their place in the world. It also applies to the friends around them. There’re still figuring things out… I just loved the complexity of it all. In this version everything feels too simplistic. As a viewer I feel like the creators are just playing with my emotions rather than taking me for a ride.
I’m a huge fan of the original, but putting my bias aside… here’s my opinion on this new adaptation. It is quite cringy. The characters don’t seem grounded. So suddenly San Ha comes home after a 10 year hiatus and expects for her “sister” to date him? It feels quite wrong in soooo many ways. The Cdrama did a better job with this romance from the get go, so when it developed it didn’t feel cringy, but necessary given the circumstances of the characters.
I don’t get why it shouldn’t be compared with the original since it is a remake after all. Of course remakes are usually hold to higher standards because someone has already done it beautifully, thus a remake. I guess this one has the style and sensibility of a typical kdrama and it is missing that charm that it is very particular to the original. I personally prefer the Cdrama, not mainly because it is the original, but because i love the slice of life style and the cast.
I’ll continue to watch this one our of curiosity...
