Is Pursuit of Jade actually worth watching? I checked it out because of the rating, but I’m not feeling the…
Regarding your comment, "It feels like he’s never even met a poor person...", he more than likely has never met anyone that poor before. He is in the highest echelons of society, and his servants live a better life than the people in this town. While his foot soldiers are comprised of poor folks like this, a general is not really mingling with them on the regular. So his not knowing what they eat and how they live is not surprising. I thought he handled it well, though, and didn't judge.
Guys, I think the drama subtly made it clear that his intention to hide his identity wasn't "just because."…
He is not saving her from anything; he is taking away her choice. She should be able to choose whether she wants to be the Marchioness or a soldier's wife, rather than being constantly in the dark and unaware of the danger she is in because all the evil hot dudes know she is his wife (and his weakness).
It kinda does from his perspective he’s insecure about the fact that if he tells her the truth she would leave…
I'm sorry, but she is already in danger because everyone else knows she is his wife. Her home was destroyed because Evil Dimples was mad at her husband. If she at least knew his identity, she could maybe be more prepared for things. While yes, I'm sure there will be issues with the disparity of their situations, she is a rational woman who should be given the opportunity to choose what she wants to do. Her autonomy and safety are being taken away in the guise of "protection."
For real....all that blood. And the final scene where her Qi Yunke bursted out streams of blood and died felt…
I yelled at my screen, "Cry later... get help for the man dying in your arms!" That was seriously ridiculous. Also, the sequence of her aunt happily running to QYK, the crazed mass murderer, made absolutely no sense to me.
I am so frustrated with this lagging plot and the back-and-forth. CZ has had next to no character growth. I do like the small growth we've seen from MQY. His character is more interesting and she seems to learn nothing and keeps doing the same thing on repeat. At least it seems we are finally getting somewhere.
What I don’t understand why MQY don’t want to talk about her anymore like he hates her for leaving him but…
I would say it is because she abandoned him, as so many people had before. She said she loved him and then left. It is a betrayal of sorts. I completely understand why he doesn't want to talk about her.
Just finished the first five episodes and this is fire! 🔥 There is so much to enjoy. ZLH and TXW are adorable together and have such great chemistry. I've also had my heart broken multiple times by how the FL is treated (probably used like half a box of tissues already). I can't wait for more!
I think there’s no expectation for rooting for anyone particular obviously, ML and FL are together, but this…
I think he chose well. The characters in this drama are so interesting, and I love their interactions. It is rare to see a drama like this, so I think he was wise to be a character he really hasn't been before. 😊
I love how Dante’s Inferno this drama is it’s like the conversations weave in and out of truth and of questions…
You really hit the nail on the head about a solid foundation for a relationship. This is my frustration right now that she won't tell him the truth. I feel like things are going to explode soon, mainly because of her insecurities and her unwillingness to be herself around him.
This drama is so different fora romance, and I am loving it. I think it feels very real, and some serious truths are being dropped in the dialogue. I can't wait to see where this is going!
I really enjoyed the dressing down she gave the Emperor. Clearly he didn't want to hear his shortcomings, but she said everything I was thinking. I was glad they were together at the end. I would like to think they can deal with whatever is thrown their way.
And seriously, how much do the Chinese detest their emperors? I must have watched 20 C-dramas over the last few…
I second the emperor from Love Like the Galaxy (I think he is the best). The actor who plays the emperor in this drama also played the emperor in Destined, where he was mostly good (he did cause the leads to suffer a bit, saved them, but made some bad choices). The emperor in Story of Kunning Palace was decent too. I have to agree, though, that there seem to be quite a few scumbag emperors in these stories. 😅
The low rating seems typical for "crime" shows on MDL, where there may be a hint of romance because the romance isn't the main theme. Also, this could be due to haters. I personally think this is a well-done show and definitely worth watching. I do look forward to the episodes each day.
Agreed re friend. She's delusional at this point. Beyond pathetic and annoying. TML liking her? He can do better;…
I couldn't agree more! I am so done with her. He has been crystal clear about his feelings for her (friendship), but she keeps going and going. I hope it doesn't last through the rest of the episodes.
