I love how Dante’s Inferno this drama is it’s like the conversations weave in and out of truth and of questions…
You really hit the nail on the head about a solid foundation for a relationship. This is my frustration right now that she won't tell him the truth. I feel like things are going to explode soon, mainly because of her insecurities and her unwillingness to be herself around him.
This drama is so different fora romance, and I am loving it. I think it feels very real, and some serious truths are being dropped in the dialogue. I can't wait to see where this is going!
I really enjoyed the dressing down she gave the Emperor. Clearly he didn't want to hear his shortcomings, but she said everything I was thinking. I was glad they were together at the end. I would like to think they can deal with whatever is thrown their way.
And seriously, how much do the Chinese detest their emperors? I must have watched 20 C-dramas over the last few…
I second the emperor from Love Like the Galaxy (I think he is the best). The actor who plays the emperor in this drama also played the emperor in Destined, where he was mostly good (he did cause the leads to suffer a bit, saved them, but made some bad choices). The emperor in Story of Kunning Palace was decent too. I have to agree, though, that there seem to be quite a few scumbag emperors in these stories. 😅
The low rating seems typical for "crime" shows on MDL, where there may be a hint of romance because the romance isn't the main theme. Also, this could be due to haters. I personally think this is a well-done show and definitely worth watching. I do look forward to the episodes each day.
Agreed re friend. She's delusional at this point. Beyond pathetic and annoying. TML liking her? He can do better;…
I couldn't agree more! I am so done with her. He has been crystal clear about his feelings for her (friendship), but she keeps going and going. I hope it doesn't last through the rest of the episodes.
Same! I am also glad I bought express a while ago. I really enjoyed this drama, even though I did cry my eyes…
Mainly from the emotions. They got engaged, were super happy, and then she went to the real world. It showed them together, yet separately, and that was rather bittersweet. Hence, the crying. I also cried at the end, but for good reasons. I was essentially in a cage of emotion and cried it out. 😅

Yes, he is the same. I don't remember them explaining how he was there at the beginning, but at the end, he said he was going to come to her world for her and did.
I loved it. I am completely happy. glad I bought express a long time ago lol to help finished it out. I really…
Same! I am also glad I bought express a while ago. I really enjoyed this drama, even though I did cry my eyes out towards the end. Yeah, the second couple was rather... meh. I will definitely be rewatching this at some point... highly entertaining and enjoyable.
I think they should have named it "Bad Decisions" because wowsers, were there are a lot of bad decisions made throughout. Overall, this is a good crime drama. I think what really made this drama good was showing that small choices can snowball into tragic outcomes (for both the antagonists and the police). The frustrations with the cases were fairly accurate reflections of how things can go when corruption is at multiple levels.
i so badly want to know the timeline of XZY's mom's relationship with the Pei stepdad. It seems so sketchy. Like…
I have a feeling he swooped in right after XZY's dad was dead to "support" her. But in reality, it was for him to control/clean up the situation so his wrongdoing was covered up.
Everyone is hating the sml for giving the fl lunch but i think it's very natural thing to do since he actually…
It is not "hating" to point out a person's actual flaws. The SML is not a good person. He manipulates and does shady things all the time. He constantly undermines the ML in their professional lives for something that happened when they were children (and he doesn't even know the actual truth of the matter).
Regarding the FL, she has set clear boundaries, and he tramples them constantly. If he genuinely liked her or were a nice person, he would not do this. The scene where he forced the lunch on her was well done. She clearly stood quite a distance from him and was polite in her speech, but it was not friendly/showing interest. From someone as astute as he is in business, he wouldn't miss these actions. He is forcing his apparent feelings on her, not really because he likes her, but because it will hurt the ML.
I don't hate him because he is a complex character and not operating on complete/accurate information. However, I do not like him.
Sorry, can anyone tell me: Do I have to watch season 1 before this? or is it not that connected?
I recommend watching season 1 first. It helps to understand the characters better and how they relate to each other. So far, it doesn't seem like the cases from this season are connected to season 1, but there may be some things connected.
