Episode 40. Guardians and friends, assemble! Yep, it feels just as good as I thought it would!🥰Both princesses…
I want to know what Lin An thought in that moment. It's one thing to know that your BF is a justice warrior, it's a very different thing to see him up on stage beheading two people he's tortured and then dragged through the streets.
Can someone tell me what happened to the king in the last episode? Was he impeached? Why did his hair turn grey?
There was an earlier episode where he wiped his fingers over a grey strand of his hair and it turned brown again, and the reveal to the Commissioner before he was murdered and then the end of ep 39 with the smokey arrow all imply that the emperor has been working with the Witcher sect. Also, the time line of his rule seems squiffy, because I thought they said he was the second emperor if the dynasty, but then they said the dynasty has been in rule for hundreds of years? (I could have the 2nd emperor bit wrong). So it looks like that when the Witcher Sect pulled the swifty they'd been planning, they removed the spell from the Emperor, so suddenly he's really old and no longer has their protection, meaning he's basically fucked and that's why the CP is now running things
He has always been great in everything I have seen him in and exceptional in this drama 🤩
I don't think he's great in everything, but I really liked his performance in this, and LBF&D. The roles give me a similar vibes, although they're obviously not the same. I think he lends himself well to characters with certain energy, that perhaps he finds easier to relate to. Also, having a director he can trust is vital. None of this is a criticism of him. He's not a classically trained actor, so he's at a disadvantage if held to that standard. He should be held to the standard of an idol actor, and I think he's improving. He does ruthless very well, he does sad very well, he does cute comedy very well. I think he has a lot of potential.
It was such a rollercoaster ride . In starting episodes, i was like Wang hedi being such a naughty character i…
His role in this gave me similar vibes to LBF&D. I think it may be a similar passion that they share. I think Wang HeDi is good in these kinds of roles, and with the right kind of director. He's still young, and not an actor's actor, so I think he maybe needs to trust himself a little more. If he was just not a good actor, he'd be terrible in everything, and he's not. He's got more potential than we've seen so far, I think, so I really want to see him working more with directors that he trusts to help guide his performance as he increases his skill and confidence.
Okay, when is seaon2? I hope it’s already in production because otherwise I am tearing my hair out.
I've heard NOTHING about S2, but they obviously want to do it as ep 1 said S1, so they were also letting us know that if there's no S2 it's not their fault 🤣
Her character improved later on, but overall, she didn’t have a lot of screen time.
She became one of my favourite characters. She had a very realistic growth arc, and kept all the best parts of her personality while having to seriously grow up very quickly, while still keeping some of her political naivety in a believable way.
If you love wuxia, zero to hero, a righteous and insane ML, and comedy and heartbreak, this is the drama for you. I fucking LOVED this. Wang Hedi turned in a rock solid performance in a role that really suited hime. I really liked Lin An's character growth, the brothership is rock solid, and we have plenty of smart strong women. Something from cdramaland is going to have to be seriously amazing to top this one for me this year.
