I'm only on episode 16, but my lord the crown princess needs to go. She has escalated so quickly, I'm waiting for her to get streaks in her hair and start demanding to speak to everyone's manager.

Couldn't even make it through all of ep 1. Over the top campy acting, the characters are feeding the story through dialogue, instead of showing us things, visual quality is dodgy, and I already feel like I've seen this drama several times before. Even the opening credits look like somethimg from the 1980s.

I'm behind on starting some of the historical dramas that have aired recently, and I'm not rushing to them because I agree with you - I'm happy to save them up for the drought that will occur during the anniversary period.

I deopped this at et ep 13. The two fenale leads have better chemistry with each other than with the ML. I like cheesy dramas, but this was a massive fail.

Cinematography is superb. OST is superb. Actor playing Xiao Qi is superb. Actor playing Wang Lin is superb. The rest is pants. I'm glad I watched it for the visuals (whoever did the lighting needs an award), but Jaysus Holy Christ, if I saw one more close up of Awu being expressionless, I would have lost my mind. Also - girl, you know a coup is happening, and you've picked the biggest dress you own?????? And let's not even start on her questionable moral compass.....

I agree. I mean, if the storyline is based around the fact that someone is supposedly extremely attractive (visually), then the actor or actress will need to tick that box, but otherwise it's irrelevant. I want to see great acting when I watch a drama, not some pretty faced wooden doll.

We only watched BoF because we hated MG so much and wanted to see if this was worse. We were surprised to discover that it is.

Agree - I enjoyed the episode, but the dubbing is terrible, the sound is really off.

I loathed Jan Di pretty much all the way through. She's a selfish cow, an absolute manipulator, and a bitch to the end. It took me over 3 months to watch this because the whole show was so horrific, and the only likeable character (the older sister) got almost zero screen time.

I gave it 2.5

Wow. This was so bad it took my daughter and I over three months to watch it. So many people seem to love it, so we struggled through, waiting for it to get better. Spoiler - it never does.

Yeah - I was really disappointed in her in that scene as well. Bit of a bitch move.

So the first thing I ever saw Jason Koo in was Oh! My Emperor, and someone commented that he looked like the squirrel from Ice Age (not in a bad way). Now, every time I see him in something, I'm like "It's the Squirrel Emperor!"

I HATE DramaCool - it's so messy and looks like it was set up by a teenager on an acid trip in 1995.

I love the fast release on iQiyi as well. Is it back up in your region yet ir still missing?

Very true - and the break in filming due to the pandemic certainly hasn't helped. Like you (and many others) I'm really looking forward to seeing this one. Fingers crossed for the quickest possible release date.
