But the release date was pushed back. Though I don't remember that first date was official or not.

It would have been nothing more than idle speculation - they're still in post production, so they don't even know yet if and when it's going to pass inspection to air, let alone a release date.

It's just an indicator of how many people are waiting, and for how long. Dramas don't normally get so many comments prior to a release date.

I'm currently on Episode 23, and still really enjoying it, but I am ready for the dodgy silver plot to move on. It's probably the least interesting 'case' so far.
