Season 2 of the "Extraordinary Attorney Woo" has officially entered pre-production. While writer Moon Ji-won is currently writing the script for Season 2, production company Astory is preparing for Season 2 based on the success of the Season 1 remake. Astory initially aimed for Season 2 in 2024 and signed a scriptwriting contract with writer Moon in 2023. Filming can begin as soon as pre-production, including script writing and casting, is completed.
However, as the script work was delayed, the casting schedule was also postponed. Actress Park Eun-bin, who played Woo Young-woo, said in an interview last year, "I haven't received any contact regarding casting yet." There is focus on whether Season 2 will proceed with retaining as many of the original cast, director, writer, and key production staff as possible.
An Astory representative said, "We are pursuing remakes in the US, Japan, and Europe, and we plan to directly handle the entire process from pre-production to adaptation and programming overseas. We hope that this global project will accelerate the production of Season 2." Astory believes that the overseas remake of Season 1 will have a positive impact on the production of Season 2.
