Not too sure about that yet tbh, from a few reports in the past few weeks it's been said that the production team is still finalizing casting so could be that they already got his replacement but haven't leaked it to an industry source. Season 2 of the "Extraordinary Attorney Woo" has officially entered pre-production. While writer Moon Ji-won is currently writing the script for Season 2, production company Astory is preparing for Season 2 based on the success of the Season 1 remake. Astory initially aimed for Season 2 in 2024 and signed a scriptwriting contract with writer Moon in 2023. Filming can begin as soon as pre-production, including script writing and casting, is completed.
However, as the script work was delayed, the casting schedule was also postponed. Actress Park Eun-bin, who played Woo Young-woo, said in an interview last year, "I haven't received any contact regarding casting yet." There is focus on whether Season 2 will proceed with retaining as many of the original cast, director, writer, and key production staff as possible.
An Astory representative said, "We are pursuing remakes in the US, Japan, and Europe, and we plan to directly handle the entire process from pre-production to adaptation and programming overseas. We hope that this global project will accelerate the production of Season 2." Astory believes that the overseas remake of Season 1 will have a positive impact on the production of Season 2.
Kim Sung Cheol reportedly casted as the male lead Nam Ji O, a doctor with a natural gift for memorization. Jin Ki Joo will play Hong Gyeong, the director of Healer Psychiatry Clinic.
Follows a psychiatrist who, after being a victim of sexual violence, believes she's overcome her struggles and opens her dream private practice. However, due to narcolepsy, she falls asleep in front of patients and is unable to treat them. She learns the medical knowledge of every department and meets a "munchkin" doctor, and struggles to survive as a self-employed clinic owner. This is the story of her rehabilitation, as she confronts her trauma once again head-on. A mutual healing between the two characters, and a realistic romance between mature adults.
