In an interview with Hwang Dong Hyuk by The Hollywood Reporter, the initial idea for the ending of Season 3 was revealed:
“It was having Gi-hun end the game, in one way or another, and leave alive and go see his daughter in America. So originally, I thought the person who witnesses the American recruiter woman would be Gi-hun. But as I began writing the story, and as I began to think more and more about, What do I want to deliver with the ending of this story? And also, What should Gi-hun’s journey and what should his destination be? I was witnessing more and more what was happening around the world and I thought it was more fitting for Gi-hun to send this powerful and impactful message to the world [with his death] and that should be how the story comes to a close."
on and off? Lee Dong Wook may act in other projects in between?
Not really sure, Lee Dong Wook as of right now doesn't have any confirmed upcoming projects that have been announced by his agency with the exception of The Nice Guy but that was filmed last year
Cast looks to be Park Ji Hoon, Yoon Kyung Ho, Han Dong Hee, and Lee Sang Yi
Lee Sang Yi in a special appearance role maybe? not sure anymore, was previously reported his appearance would be short but PPL advertising agency has him listed kinda differently
Looks like production will be going until at least a planned December 30th, from a recent photography/lighting team recruitment post for their production team
