Usually in such scenarios, the killed ones get injected by a drug that drives them insane and suicidal. This center might have been used as a rehab center or for medical experiments.

I'm also curious about the adults who were at the reception. Where did they go and are they involved?

Despite some rookie acting, the story is interesting so far.

I think the first kid who got killed in the bathroom always got Jin Da Beom in trouble (like asking for his money back from the bullies) and that is why JDB killed him. Or JDB thought that by killing his "mafia" friend, it would help him later on to win the game when he gets suspected as a mafia.

JDB is also the one who found his friend's body. So your theory could be right and these 2 are the masterminds because they were bullied and no one managed to put a stop to it.

FL must have been involved somehow but forgot or had her memories erased. When she saw the center upon arrival, she said "didn't we come here before?" I think all her nightmares and hallucinations are from a past experience.
