I would recommend this
i’ve seen a lot of critical reviews saying the series was poorly made, but we all know it didn’t have a big budget for better production. still, i think they really tried.so far, i like the story because there aren’t too many characters, so the plot focuses on the main pair. they make a great duo, and the story feels different from other bl shows. the trope of a prisoner and a prisoner is rare since most bls are about high school love stories. the characters seem mature, but they’re clearly struggling with their relationship, like they’re yearning to be loved even though it feels forbidden because of who they are.
i’m honestly so curious about their backstories. i really want to know more about them.
to be honest, their acting needs improvement, but it’s understandable since it’s their first time acting. and while we can’t really complain about the writing since it’s based on a true story, i think they could’ve added better elements to the plot and executed the drama more smoothly.
this would be a good drama to watch if you’re short on time but still want a good plot. the episodes are really short, but so far it's a great story to watch.

saved by good visual casting from flopping.
i don’t really get the hype this drama gets. at first, i kind of did because i can’t deny the first episode was really great. i thought it had the potential to be one of the best, but they completely let us down with the poor writing. it just got more and more boring as the episodes came out.the cast is visually appealing, but i don’t care if they look good when they act stiffly in a badly written series. i think there’s room to develop the characters more. most of them are lively and outgoing, but teerak acts like a child. i get that they’re going for a cute personality, but it just comes off as cringy to me.
then there’s muenfah, he’s always holding a freaking phone, and all he does is smile. even when smiling, he somehow looks stiff. it’s just so awkward.
to be honest, i feel like not a lot of people would watch this if thomas and kong weren’t in it. the series is only saved because of them, since they’re so hyped.

a secret agent going undercover in a high school
the story moves really fast. the first few episodes weren’t as intense, but starting from episodes 9 to 12, everything escalated quickly. the buildup was there, but once things started unfolding, it just kept getting better.all of the characters actually had really good screentime. they made sure everyone had their moments, especially team 4, and i love how they worked together. the way hae seong said "my team might be weak individually, but together they can do it" really showed their bond. their dynamic was one of the best things about the series.
as for the characters, i really liked o su a. she’s so soft and genuinely cares about her students. even though she wasn’t directly involved in the action, she was still an important part of the team. hae seong’s dad was also a standout, his loyalty and sacrifices for his son made his character really memorable. and of course, jung hae seong himself carried the entire show. everything revolved around him, and his journey was what tied the whole story together.
i also really liked yu jeong and yena’s friendship. they went through so much together, especially with what yena was dealing with. she felt like no one could truly understand her, so she just kept everything bottled up inside. but despite not knowing exactly what was happening, yu jeong still understood her in her own way. even when yena didn’t treat her well at first, yu jeong stayed by her side, willing to endure it all because she cared for yena. their friendship was one of the most touching parts of the series.
su myeong ju was willing to take any risk, no matter how dangerous, as long as it served her goals, but never when her daughter was around. despite everything, she was still a mother. the ending she got was exactly what she deserved, but not in the way she deserved as a mother.
finding out in the end that principal park did everything for su myeong ju, even going as far as being willing to take the fall for her. he had a special bond with su myeong ju and her family, that he thought by doing everything for her, he was repaying their kindness. but in reality, that kindness never existed. in the end, he realized that he didn’t help su myeong ju, he only made things worse. instead of saving her, he fed into her obsession with the gold bars, pushing her further down a path of destruction.
the ending was actually really good. finding out that the director was working for su myeong ju the whole time was unexpected. su myeong ju and the principal couldn’t find the gold bars on their own, so she had hae seong’s dad do it instead. but the biggest twist was that hae seong’s dad already knew that the director was working for su myeong ju and that she was planning to steal the gold bars that rightfully belonged to the korean people. that’s why, instead of reporting that the gold was found, he secretly moved it to his house. he did all of this not just to complete his mission but to keep his promise to hae seong, that “when looking at the stars, they will shine.” and hoping that jung hae seong will complete the mission he left unfinished.

THIS SEASON IS ABOUT BAKU AND BAEK JIN
The story of this season is more about Baku and Baek Jin’s friendship, but it doesn’t feel overly contrasted, but that's where the story really revolves around.
Season two is where the actual story starts, while season one was more of the backstory.
There’s no real connection between season one and two, the only thing that connects them is Suho and Sieun’s friendship.
In this season, I see it as Sieun having a new life where he meets a new set of people who help heal his traumatic past and him being violent again because he doesn’t want to lose his friends again.
I haven’t read the webtoon yet, but Baek Jin and Baku’s friendship is left unexplained, including how Baek Jin got into the Union, so it’s really confusing for people who only watched the drama.
The action scenes are surprisingly more intense and well-directed than in season one. The screen time shows more action than the development of Jun Tae, Gotak, Baku, and Sieun’s friendship. It would have been much nicer if their friendship had been developed much deeper and shown to us.
The characters aren’t really written as well as the characters in season one. But they still managed to entertain and make the viewers stay because of the action scenes that give you nerves and make you stay tuned for the ending of the story, which we waited almost three years to be aired.
The villains are not developed either. They didn’t give them a backstory, except for Baek Jin, but his back story is not really explained well. Seong Jae showed up randomly, and the rest are just the Union’s lackeys.
