You’re wrong about everything except for the bl Thai industry being toxic. Mew is not even single 😁 : he…
I know they do date lol, but there's literally no argument to be made on that they're "open" with it just because they're caught out with them. I literally said they aren't allowed to make mention of it, not that they aren't allowed to date. They might bring it up but they don't _talk_ about it. Do they post pictures together? Speak openly about their relationships? Or are they just caught with them or bring them upbriefly? It's the industry that decides that they aren't allowed to make statements regarding their personal relationships because they want to cater to the fans, which goes back to my point on these toxic contracts. You know the industry is cooked but are sweating trying to defend it. You said it yourself: they HAVE to keep promoting together, even long after the series has aired. When do these popular actors ever get BL roles with other male partners without massive backlash? And can you really make the argument that they don't just get stuck with the "BL actor" title? Do these CPs not end up affected by each other's drama? Why is it that Thailand strives to promote these "BL actors" as couples instead of individual actors? You said I'm wrong about everything so prove it, the only point you made was against something I didn't even say.

AY YO WHAT?? I was OBSESSED with Segawa and literally said back when T&A aired that Sakai Sho needed a main role but NEVER expected to actually see him getting one considering he had a total of about 10 seconds of screen time, BUT LOOK AT MY BOY THRIVING YESS

I feel like Mew decided to take on a BL role again because it's produced entirely (?) in South Korea, where the treatment of actors taking on BL roles isn't as brutal (generally speaking). They promote the show together for some weeks, couple months at best, and then move on and don't leave people expecting them to be cast into an another show as a couple. Same goes for Taiwan, China, Japan... Whereas in Thailand many actors cast into BLs are labeled "BL actors" after one BL role, very likely contract bound to play-pretend a relationship with their co-star for years on end, doing cringy fanservice live shows etc. while practically forbidden from being involved romantically with anyone else on screen much less making any mention of actually dating someone else because their whole career is now dependant on this one ship. One half gets into drama? Both parties get fucked (BibleBuild cope). No one should have to limit their whole career like this for one role. The shipping is just as toxic pretty much everywhere but the entertainment industries producing BLs aren't as messed up anywhere else as they are in Thailand. This is why I have no beef with Thai actors that refuse to take on BL roles (or any actors anywhere really, it's their choice, better not to do it than to do it for clout and money), and never automatically assume it has to do with homophobia. It's a toxic industry. Don't know much about Mew though so maybe there's shit I missed.

Lowkey a little offended they cut the scene of Shouta catching Mahiro mid fall during the cooking session which was promised in the preview for ep 3, I don't normally like cliches like that but Mahiro is so f'n cute with how hard he's crushing on Shouta I was dying to see his reaction

There are 3 novels in total. Season 1 covers the first novel, season 2 and the movie combined cover the second…
As far as I know there unfortunately isn't as of right now

does anyone know when this will be released internationally? will it be out on April 7th or is that just in japan?
April 7th is the official release date for theatres in Japan. Since this won't be simulcast, in all likelihood it won't release internationally until sometime around autumn/winter when the DVD/blu-ray comes out and someone uploads it online with English fansubs. This is what I've gathered, anyway.

I lovelovelove how little this show relies on bg music, the silence fits the vibe perfectly... criminal how this only has 7k watchers, at least the rating finally climbed up to an 8

They play roles in other series as well. Not always BL and not even together all the time. So even if this might…
Very true, boy can build chemistry with anyone. Just proves how great of an actor he is.

My theory is that the core issue with these two is the lack of communication: Fumiya doesn't tell Ritsu that the things he does like cleaning up the birthday decorations Fumiya put up for him make him feel like Ritsu doesn't care, and consequently Ritsu doesn't understand that his actions upset Fumiya. I think this is perfectly summarised through their fight in the first episode: "You should've told me before you got angry" "Shouldn't you know that much?" "Well, I don't know!"

Either Suzuki has the perfect face for this role or he knows how to portray melancholy down to every little detail, he just looks like a man that has been through some shit (in the best way possible). The way Fumiya looks at Ritsu and the places that remind him of their past is so incredibly full of emotion it makes me want to sob. I just wish I didn't have this gut feeling that Ritsu isn't all that great a person, I will actually die if Fumiya doesn't get the happiness he deserved in the end.

The sadness surrounding Fumiya is killing me, it's written all over his face how those little moments of happiness he feels when it seems like he's gotten to go back in time to when their relationship was good are being overshadowed by his memories of how things turned out in the end... Poor guy.

I feel like Japanese are really good at expressing melancholy ;( They do it really well whether it is anime or…
Very true, Japan really has cracked the code of expressing emotion through atmosphere, setting and cinematography instead of hammering it home through dialogue.

The atmosphere in this feels similar to Eien no Kinou in the way it portrays the sadness and emptiness without overemphasizing it, it just hangs in the air and you can feel it through the screen. Makes it feel so much more real and honest, I love it. Very interested to see how Suzuki will do in such a serious role after the comedic masterpiece that was Katori.

Yeah I know, I watch everything Gun is in haha. But I was talking in terms of the bl genre, Off and Gun have been paired with other women but not other men since PH. So as far as bl is concerned, I would like to see them paired with others as well in order to not just be seen as OffGun in the bl world but as individuals. It’s a different story if they themselves don’t wish to be paired with other men than each other since they’re so comfortable together, I totally respect that and it’s up to them what roles they choose.

Ahh as much as I hate to say it I really don't know about this one... I have loved OffGun ever since Puppy Honey 2 aired in 2017 and waited desperately for them to get a proper, well written show together. Theory of Love was cute but very baseline and far too lacklustre given that both Off and especially Gun are incredible actors and have an undefeated chemistry together, which was further proven when Not Me finally came out and they got the masterpiece they deserved. And I realllly think that's where the decision to start focusing on pairing them with other actors if they choose to do a bl should've been made, these two are so comfortable with each other and I can't see much room for them to grow as actors much more if they keep getting paired up together, especially if the plot overall doesn't have much to offer like Not Me where the romance wasn't the main focus. It seems like we're going back in time to an era like Theory of Love, where these two are stuck with a plot far below their capabilities as actors and after so many years of waiting for them to get to give their all in a proper drama, I really don't wanna go back to this... Also, after watching the same pair in so many shows, I fear I'll fail to keep viewing them as their characters instead of just as OffGun, which takes away from the immersion. But maybe I'm whining too soon, I guess we'll see what this has to offer, maybe this will surprise me and they'll actually have more freedom to avert from cliches in this. I just, well, doubt it.

Edit to clarify: there's nothing wrong with a non-serious plot, I love me one every now and again. But imho Thailand just doesn't know how to make a non-awkward casual romance that doesn't feel plotless, empty and fully reliant on fanservice, only look at just about every thai bl airing right now... so when I say downgrade, I don't necessarily mean genre-wise overall but am more so speaking from the perspective of having watched thai bl for six years and having a good idea of what this show will be like.

Man, I really hope Masumi doesn't give in to Ritsu as easily as it seems like he will, that dude 100% deserves to live his remaining 10 days being constantly reminded of just how bad he hurt Masumi just so he might learn to feel some remorse since it definitely doesn't seem like he regrets anything. That being said, I'm really looking forward to how this story will turn out.

Also god damn am I having a hard time looking at that poorly edited cover image, the shitty blending paired with the awful colour scheme is physically painful to me...
