You make it seem like there is no market for older characters in tv, why are you implying theres some sort of…
alright. i'll play along for a bit. let's break down your comment to see where you're right and im wrong. 1. you say that the bl industry is evolving. i agree! then you proceed to list some examples of dramas with men over 30 ig. all of them, btw, aired after this show, and two of them are from a whole different country, so i'm not sure how it correlates to gmmtv and their casting dynamic in the year 2020. 2. then you say that making the generalization that bl is restricted for men under 30 is wrong. but guess what? i never did that. im actually curious to know where did you get that from lol 3. then you talk about treating gay romance as appeal for teens instead of deep plots-- which hey, i dont know if you're new to bl or what and im not gonna bore you with the origins of the genre, because we agreeed that it is always evolving, but you gotta know where you come from to know where you're going. 4. you quoted my initial comment that read "trying to squeeze the last drop out of these 30 year old men". ohh that alone sound awful no? as if im ready for them to retire or something? luckily, the complete statement said "gmm trying to squeeze the last drop out of these 30 year old men before fully moving on to their next generation". now this tells a whole different story imo: for starters, the subject is gmm, not me, that is very imporant. then i talk about moving to their next generation. again, idk if you're new, but these six represent the first generation of gmmtv's bl shows. the thing about thai Y series tho, it's that once your show becomes mildly successful, you're stuck with that acting partner as long as the ship keep being profitable. by that point (2020), krist had that whole homophobia controversy, there were rumours about taynew being over all the fan service, plus their careers had gone different ways by then; the only ship still going strong was offgun, so i honestly thought this was them saying like "hey the ships are over but we're still here pls dont stop giving us money". the reason i mention their age was because the new actors in the company getting the main roles were all teenagers or 20-21, so if they were to come back to bl, their choises for a new ship wouldve been limited to say the least. and i think i was right: taynew and offgun went back to working together (and even with them, it took until this year for gmm to abandon the school setting), singto left gmm and try out different partners, and againts all odds, krist came back with gawin whos also one of the oldest (oop i know you dont like that word) left in the company.

the way youre picking and choosing what bits of my comments you respond to and which you ignore to make your point... lol bye. learn how to read full sensenses, then we can have a discussion

considering bl dramas have a history of thriving in school settings, i dont think what i said is the craziest idea, plus generational cut off? yeah , i do think theres something similar at least in gmm. you wouldnt see them pairing jumpol with someone from the cast of my school president. even krist's latest work was alongside gawin who's been on the company for a similar time as him
im choosing to delude myself into believing that this ended right after episode 5 with them going to prom as a throuple idc idc. the sudden and very unnecessary tone change is giving me My Extraordinary flashbacks; lets just hope ashley doesn't start seeing ghosts next episode
i can see Jeng liking Pat, bc he said he only gets approached by ppl trying to use him or who arent honest. Say…
yeah its probably gonna be latter. like pat doing something meaningful for jeng so we realize that they were right for each other since the beginning, and all plot holes are forgiven and forgotten lol
i can see Jeng liking Pat, bc he said he only gets approached by ppl trying to use him or who arent honest. Say…
ok now that you mention it, I see it. i just think that the intensity of jeng's feeling doesn't feel proportionate to the timing in the story. like jeng is supposed to be strict in his way and all that, but he's ready to change his whole work dynamic at the first criticism from pat? it doesnt make sense for him to be THAT influenced from someone's whos still getting to know
ok so we can agree that pat is inmature and not very likeable, and jeng hasnt done or said basically anything wrong as a boss, but what I'm having a problem with, is figuring out WHY is jeng so whipped for pat???? like beyond physical attraction, i dont see how he would fall for him after their first meeting, pat was basically talking shit about a boss he didn't even knew, to a total stranger. and their interactions after that werent much better, its just him having temper tantrums about his boss advicing him to control his temper.
i mean of course pat is gonna fall for jeng, seeing how he's the most caring humam beeing in existence, but thats only because jeng is already interested in pat, because he is literally the only character he interacts with
they bareeely brushed through the "psychological" part, which made the story lost a big chunk of what sets it apart from every other highschool romance. the last episode specially, i thought they were gonna adapt the side story from the webtoon, but they just went with some basic, over used fan service ending, i wish id stop watching at episode 6 as it was originally intended to
Not all of them are 30, Krist (the youngest is 27) and he was 24 during filming, besides do you think 30 is old?…
yes i also said "... before fully moving on to their next generation" and look at that, the trailer for our skyy 2 dropped a few days ago with the ships from the last couple of years.
