(currently watching: 5/16) all of the female characters are actually interesting in paper, but it looks like production was holding back in fear of... offending the male audience by seeming too feminist, I guess? that's why hyeri can't seem to do anything without the male lead going to her rescue even when most of the time he just fucks everything up.
is the uncensored version even worth being on onlyfans? I've seen snippets of this in my TL, but I doubt it was the uncersored cut cuz it just looks like anything on gagaoolala. so like, what would we be paying for really? I'm expecting full frontal at the very least if I'm gonna have to call my bank for the suspicious charge
korea is yet to produce a better gay love story than this straight drama. gawd, that episode where they pretend they're brothers, but soon turns into the gayest no-homo beach sequence? chef kiss
i once asked on the original yt upload if they could upload it to like vimeo on demand so people could pay to watch it anytime (cuz the video kept being put on private), but the director replied that they were unable bc the copyright belonged to his university. i wonder if there's a way we can request for it to be on gagaoolala, for example. cuz i've seen they have a few student-made shorts like this one
someone spoil the ending for me pls, this sht is LONG, i tried skipping to the last episode but i could not bother spending another hour and a half. just wanna know if he goes back to being a stuffed animal or what
haven't seen many japanese straight dramas myself, but isn't one of the main things foreigners talk about the lack of skinship? plus from my viewing experience it's mostly the woman the one flustered or hesitant about it, so the pattern you're seeing might be just the seme-uke dynamic playing out (which in my opinion is dated, heteronormative and kinda offensive but whatever), cuz I've seen similar situations even on thai or korean bl
why did the quality dropped like that on the last episode? the actors looked awkward and the lines sounded forced, story wise was awful, they build up to that for two episodes just to show...that. even visually, it all just seemed sloppy. was there some production problem, or a last minute reshoot to justify this? the first two episodes were great, and it went downhill from there, but this last one was drastic
a lot of unconsecuential characters, don't yall think? all the taesung haters would work better in a villain-of-the-week type way, but they just dumped them all at the same time and got rid of them just as easy.
there's also the PR team wich personally i can't stand, especially that one character that only speaks in "breaking story"-esque one liners, it got tired by the second time she did that. but that may be a cultural difference i can't get into, cuz they seem like that kind of cringe-worthy, millenial, office worker humour koreans tend to like.
and lastly there's the rookie actor who takes off his clothes when drunk... god, how much money do yo think FNC paid to have seunghyub on this? there's nothing to his character, it's like they wanted him to be a rebound love interest for that other manager, but it got cut off bc the n.flying yearly budget didn't allow for a full storyline, so they just went for the shirtless scene for some cheap reaction
What's with the script? All his haters are coming out one by one at the same time :-) None of them have logical…
yup agree. yeah, they can say that's how antis operate and whatever, but if in a drama the antagonists have no reason for existing, it just means it's not that well written
imo he just got lucky coz Midnight blue messed up otherwise he had no chance of winning that battle with those…
exactly cuz even the choreography he created was painfully basic-- no shade but i expected that kind of level from the idols, not from someone with over ten years of experience. i kinda wanted to see more of midnight blue, but that shoud've been a double boot, and then let both kids from the last battle stay
and it's not even a bad drama, wich frustrates me even more lmao i like how for jiwoo, sexual preference was kinda…
ngl I thought the teacher was the stalker. he was sus for me the whole time lol. but you're right! he obviously knew what was going on, he should've said something
can't seem to pass the fact that the whole premise of the show is that they're in a "family and marriage" class…
and it's not even a bad drama, wich frustrates me even more lmao
i like how for jiwoo, sexual preference was kinda never an issue. you can tell he found ro-a attractive since day one, and when he ask him whether he liked men, it seemed more like he was testing the waters to see if there was a chance (kinda reminded me of that "thank you for being my supportive straight friend" scene on heartstopper, but better?).
ro-a tho, most of the time it felt like he was filming a whole different show: while jiwoo was terrified about the stalker threatening him at his own home, miss thing was like "oh no he's mad about the rumours of us being a couple". and that last episode? girl.... i guess web dramas have a thing for "spicing things up" out of nowhere at the last episode even when the plot is already done, so whatever, but like it doesn't even make sense? you've been flirting non-stop with this boy the whole time, and run away when he reciprocates? bye
can't seem to pass the fact that the whole premise of the show is that they're in a "family and marriage" class (wtf?), and there is not one scene dedicated to talk about same sex marriages, homoparental families or queer relationships at the very least (unless you count that very, veery vague line from hyewon in he first episode). this shit not even on tv to blame it on censorship! theyre on viki and gagaoolala (wich focuses on lgbt content). wasted oportuniy.
everyone knows that these bl productions are mostly made for straight women with a gay men fetish, but come on, you want your favorite failed idols to play gay for pay, but won't bother talking about lgbt+ rights? shit is happening, and queer people are still a vulnerable population in korea (my heart goes to holland), so we need these people to take a stand if they wanna make money out of us
