I think the ONLY reason why no one questioned the blood type thing is because everyone is under duress because…
When I came up with that scenario I figured that there's no way Jin Taeseok is going to make it to the end of this drama alive (I'll be very surprised if he does) so the screenwriter should go hard and make his final arc memorable
Like seriously if this ends with a Jin Taeseok redemption I'll be shocked
I need to finish the two sisters lol. Last I remember of Bae Doeun she was still scheming to become Hyewon's MIL (I actually liked Doeun better than Hyewon at that point) But I dropped it. I think I dropped it before the screenwriter changed lol. But hey if I got through woman in a veil I can absolutely get through the two sisters ðŸ˜ðŸ‘€
I've never left a comment on this drama... so I might as well share my thoughts on this one
This is probably the darkest daily drama I've watched in a while. The vibes of the posters are very fitting. Like most dailies, there's gag scenes, but unlike most dailies, the gag scenes are few and far between (One of the gag characters actually gets killed off ??? LMFAOOOO)
This is one of those rare dailies where the ML is the main character. I think the last one I've seen was Man in a Veil. Seo Hajoon is our lead, he's on a path for revenge after his mother went missing under mysterious circumstances. Oh and if that's not enough, his sister gets murdered too...
The villains are something else. I've always liked Lee Seungyeon but I've become an even bigger fan since her performance in A Graceful Liar (highly recommend btw) but Sookjin is THE final boss here. I knew it once she was willing to commit ELECTION FRAUD for her golden child Taehyung. Taehyung himself is the kind of ambitious that's fun to watch
The FLs are Taehee and Juhong. Taehee is actually my favorite character just because I sympathize with the abuse she gets. Juhong comes off as bit of a Mary Sue but she's kind of getting interesting now that she married into the family.
I low-key feel bad saying this but Sol freaks me out for some reason (I will absolutely pause a show if the child character annoys me, see Nino from Cruel Temptation lmao) and that's kind of why I put this on pause for a second. However, I came across some interesting spoilers that make me want to circle back to this...
I also have a strong suspicion that Taehyung isn't actually Sookjin's son. If so, that's going to be some insane karma........
I think the ONLY reason why no one questioned the blood type thing is because everyone is under duress because…
As long as they don't pull a woman in a veil and wait until the absolute last second to reveal it I'm good lol
I actually want to see Jin Taeseok suffer psychologically over this reveal but instead of using it as an excuse to be a loving father or feel guilty, he uses it as motivation to kill her because how it ruins the narrative that he had built up lol
It would be cool if Jeongwon got direct access to Kunhyang's slush fund and ledger as the director of the art museum. It would be a nice subversion to the trope where the FL and ML spend the last 10-20 episodes looking for a ledger
I'm way more into Nansook and Hyera's scheme to acquire Kunhyang (for their kids, ironically enough) than whatever Jeongwon and Haneul's approach is, but that's mostly because Nansook is HER. Just act cute and let the adults do what they need to do lol
I've been procrastinating on this because I'm using this drama to test my Korean listening skills so I've been studying up! (literally the sole reason I want to become fluent is to watch old dailies lmao after I finish this I'm going to watch Two Wives, the 3rd of SBS's wife trio)
The MIL is wild "your baby will die unless you divorce my son" I was wondering why Yoohee would just give up like that but that'll definitely do it. But the MIL is crazy in her own right for putting her grandchild's life on the line for the cardinal sin of ... being born to an orphan? GIRL.
We need a daily drama Renaissance with a 2020s Wife trio... come on sbs, revive the daily!!!
First of all this is definitely going on my "daily dramas I would watch again" list. Now is it perfect?…
Oh if you like series with insane characters you'll love game of witches lol the person who wrote this drama is also writing a currently airing daily called a Graceful Liar which is also good, and I recommend that one as well!
I haven't finished s2 yet but I do like how Lee Joon's character came back!
First of all this is definitely going on my "daily dramas I would watch again" list. Now is it perfect?…
Yes! I finished S1 in record time because the villains were on a whole other level.... Like Dami is possibly the biggest victim I've ever seen in a kdrama ðŸ˜
If Jeongwon dies that would completely subvert the makjang drama playbook which would be ... interesting. Hyera…
You know what's crazy? I was actually thinking about ~expanding my horizons ~ and watching my first saeguk. You just gave me the perfect recommendation lol
And yes lol one of my favorite parts about elegant Empire was when they showed how locked in Jukyung was when she was making the transformation into Heejae like she was so dedicated lol
About Park Jinhee's character:"Actress Park Jin-hee, who has enhanced the play's immersion with her charismatic…
Definitely agree! Runa-as-Ruby was way more interesting than Ruby-as-Runa. I think I made it to about episode 40ish? Gotta rewatch since it's been at least 10 years since I watched.
I'm definitely going to do a deep dive on namuwiki and create a master list of twin switch dramas! That's a good idea!
He’s old probably doesn’t know what a.i is 😂 …. He’s rich I’m sure he has his own personal lawyer…
I found it hilarious that he REALLY didn't appreciate Sehoon getting him legal counsel lol nevermind that was probably the most constructive thing SH has done all episode 😂 guess it's time to the writer to start foreshadowing the Big Reveal....
Jeongwon truthers WE WON. That board meeting was actually pretty entertaining lol I'm actually surprised that Taeseok's didn't claim Haneul's recording was AI generated. But yes, I definitely rewinded the episode and watched Taeseok get arrested twice 🤣
Anyway I feel like the subsequent conversation between Nansook and Haneul is foreshadowing for a good old fashioned ledger hunt! Can't have a daily without that lol
Okay and Taeseok getting mad that Sehoon got him a lawyer is lmaooo like that IS standard procedure. But Taeseok is so grandiose he would 1000% be one of those people who try to represent himself in court and fail miserably (please let this be a scene in the drama eventually lmaooo)

I think you've already seen the promise but I'll always recommend that lol
There's Ruby Ring which is a twin switch where the two switch faces. The bad twin is kind of the lead since the good twin spends most of the drama KO'd iirc. Lee Soyeon did a great job in this role
Mina is an old one from 2001, written by Seo Hyunjoo (who's current project is the First Man) - one twin takes over the other twin's life after she gets injured in an accident
And then there's I Have a Lover, not a daily but still a makjang. I'm honestly surprised that there aren't more lol
Like seriously if this ends with a Jin Taeseok redemption I'll be shocked
