Guess who's back with more casting news! Four new characters have been revealed so let's get into it:
First we have Seong Yieon, who will be playing Lim Jihoon. He's the head of the Korean Arts and Culture Center and is described as a kind yet cold person with excellent piano skills. He also has emotional scars stemming from childhood.
Park Solra plays Do Dohee, a Western-style painter (probably specializes in an art style that's popular in europe ie impressionalist art) and influencer. She has a "glamorous lifestyle" and "sensual image" BUT she grew up in an environment where perfection was expected of her. However she has an "honest yet unpredictable charm"
Seo Doyoung is playing Cha Seunghyun, who is a 7th degree postal official (a mailman?) he's described as responsible, willing to sacrifice for his family and has a gentle and sincere personality.
Last but not least, Jeon Seungbin plays Cha Seungwoo. He is a broadcast PD of a channel's liberal arts department (???) ... and has a charm that only his family sees. Despite that he has drive and is considered to be the "ace" of the broadcast station. He also has a "sophisticated sense". I'll say there's a 99% chance that he is the brother of Cha Seunghyun

I cannot stand the side couple of Yoonchul and Minjeong *Regina George voice* stop trying to make them happen they'll never happen!! I would rather watch Seowoo and Hyungjin's co-parenting and I mean that. Hyungjin's willingness to still be involved in baby Pureun's life makes him likeable and it kinda saved his character in my eyes. I'm hoping Mingoo and Hyejin are able to accept him in the end but for now their reactions are believable. I DO hope Mingoo gets his lick back regarding Yuna threatening to out Hyungjin....
Honestly? I agree with one of the reviews; the side characters take up too much of the story. After Jaekyung and Yeonhee become a couple, they kinda fall back until about episode 75 - which I think sucks because I actually like Yeonhee and Jaekyung as a couple lol. But Hyungjin's subplot with Seowoo and Yoonchul's romance subplot take over the story... as well as Yuna finding new ways of being human trash. But luckily it seems like episode 80 (I'm on ep 84 as I write this comment) is the turning point. Now let's see what Yeonhee is cooking...
I swear once I get more things off my watch list I'm going to finish that and Two Sisters π I think those two + Woman Who Swallowed the Sun are the considered to be worst dailies of the 2020s π

Who am I kidding... I'll be lurking and "watching" through the comments. The only way I see myself tuning back in is if I hear Sukhee goes full revenge incarnate and brings Hwayoung to her knees. But this is a Seo Hyunjoo drama and as we see, she sucks at writing revenge!
You can tell the exact moment when the "extension" storylines were written in (zero follow up for Baekho's "habit" of touching his ear/the ma family crest, Hwayoung purposely switching the chairman's meds to kill him with nothing happening, Sukhee being the chairman's daughter....) and that's exactly where this drama went off the rails. Time to finish one of the many dramas I'm watching instead...

Nambong remains useless btw and I'm surprised he hasn't hit up Hwayoung at all... that being said it was pretty funny when Youngja told him "maybe we can co-author a paper together" I still am the most interested in Youngja's storyline but it's starting to get boring tbh... I low-key ship Kanghyuk with Youngja though lol
Junho is not the victim he thinks he is (this is in response to last week's episodes because I didn't comment at all lol) and if the writer is trying to make him totally irredeemable and one dimensional, she succeeded. I dislike seeing him on my screen... At this rate Jangmi could shoot him in the face and he would still be convinced that they are destiny... like Baekho and Jangmi are literally married. (or are they? Not like it changes anything because no still means no) Hey Junho, a dead horse called and he said "stop beating me"
If you're going to make Junho evil that's fine but it's time for a new motive outside of getting with Jangmi. How would I handle this if I were the writer? After Baekho punched the shit out of Junho last week I would've made it so Junho realized that Jangmi will never choose him. So ... he decides to ruin her as well as Baekho. Hongju and Junho marry each other for business purposes and as Hongju is the (step)daughter of Dream, Junho with the help of Hongju, uses his newfound power to crush them, and Hwayoung decides to help her son in the best way she knows how... giving Baekho and Jangmi something to do besides twiddling their thumbs and wait for Eunhye to be found. (I know they explained the logic but there's really no reason not to expose Hwayoung right now lol) Hongju would also get something to do besides lurk around. Her unrequited crush on Baekho would be the perfect motive, also the fact that she was Seorin's "servant" at the beginning of the drama...
Basically Hongju and Junho get upgraded to Jin Final Boss status. The couples would then duke it out to try to get ownership of dream while Seorin plays both sides with the intention of having the competition take themselves out. Eventually she would side with Jangmi... and the good guys win. I would find that way more interesting than whatever ....this is.
Speaking of Baekho remember when it was implied he was adopted and he had a habit of touching his ears that lasted exactly one (1) episode? I do but the writer clearly does not π
This "twist" of Sukhee being the chairman's daughter is so stupid and was clearly thought out to buy us more time until episode 140. I actually really hate this subplot lmao. Seems like Hwayoung will make herself into the fake daughter and since she runs circles around everyone in this drama she'll probably get away with it for a while... it also doesn't help that Sukhee is mentally 3 (I said it once and I'll say it again, Bora is more mature than Sukhee) so she's easy to take advantage of. See: the incident with the hikers.

It's actual sociopathic behavior that she lied with a straight face to the Jangs while ON HER KNEES and then crocodile teared her way to sympathy. It was wild after everyone left and Seowoo called Yuna out... only for Yuna's tears to immediately dry up??? π
The chairman is standing on business tho and not folding, love that for him. Haneul continues to be Yuna's lifeline and it's going to suck (for her) when the truth about who his father is, is exposed. I can't wait for that lol
Wow... Hyunjin may have replaced Yoonchul as my least favorite character. Like I'm not mad he's gay but like.... if you're going to live your truth then live your truth ... Don't completely ghost everyone, quit your job and hide away. Live your truth but not at the expense of women... It's very cowardly how he's treating Seowoo. Tbh I am surprised the writer was allowed to even put this storyline into a morning drama since SK is socially conservative but I guess SBS was like "this is our last daily drama anyway so do as you please" to the writer
Back to Hyunjin. He knew he was gay before he proposed to Seowoo. Granted Hyejin and Mingoo think that he's getting cold feet because of "another woman" but they weren't wrong when they said he shouldn't have proposed to Seowoo in the first place π€·πΎββοΈ he definitely shouldn't have slept with her either (regarding my previous comment about the actress playing Seowoo. . That was the most awkward "bed" scene I've seen, it was unintentionally hilarious because yet again, she only emotes by making her eyes bigger π) I'm actually happy that Hyejin and Mingoo are calling him out for this ... because if this were an American show they would have told Seowoo to get over it and accept Hyunjin's "true self".

However, I appreciated the soju ad with none other than the tacky Sanwol. I'm looking forward to Seonghye clocking her next episode because her insecurity got old fast.
Also lol @ LAWYER Baekho staging a "commitment ceremony" before registering the marriage. Guess the writer forgot that Baekho is supposed to be a lawyer... who should know a marriage isn't valid until you register it, wedding be damned...
