Am I really wrong or counterproductive by wanting a more inclusive and accurate representation of lesbian relationships within the BL industry? (Of course, I would like to see accuracy in the gay male relationships in this industry as well.) I'm sure my opinion and perception differs greatly from yours due to my age, as I don't feel the need to accept "crumbs" and/or tokenism. What I feel is truly counterproductive, is our acceptance of these "crumbs" and to feel as though we have a seat at the table. I'm probably gonna continue to air my disappointment until there is such a time as I feel better about our depiction by this industry. Granted, stereotypes exist, but I feel we don't have to accept or perpetuate them, whether they are loosely based on observed behaviors or not. Quite often these established and accepted stereotypes are based on responses to societal barriers placed on us. As lesbians, we often joke about these stereotypes to diminish the negativity, pain and frustrating power they have. It's a double-edged sword in that the more accepting we are, the more they are used as a standard.
I didn't say that "shipping" the PaiMuffin characters is/was wrong as that was not my intent. I said that I would enjoy a GL coupling. In your comment, I see how you arrived at Pai being lesbian by default - she being a character in a BL drama where "everyone" is gay. But, we, as lesbians are usually biased and want ALL of the female characters to be gay. I can't, at this time, confirm that the Pai character is indeed gay without seeing more substance and hopefully get over my biases of the industry "catfishing or baiting" me as a "thirsty" queer woman. I, too, hope that the GL "boom" is not short lived and these relationships will become more common.

Yes, it could be both. It saddens me that a straight forward woman is considered gay because of an androgynous appearance and actions. But okay. Since most of us queer women are shy about approaching a love interest, there is a need for more finite indicators of a sexual preference other than clothing and physical characteristics.
It would be good to see a GL couple in this series and I hope to enjoy a better depicted relationship than the other mess we've seen to date. This is a BL and it's all about the fantasies for straight girls and we'll have to endure the stereotypical lesbian/bisexual female characters.

Recycle bin gangster is a mess. Even the actor is confused about the vibe of his character. Poor thing.
