K-Drama Sherlock Holmes from Temu
Gate 24 had everything it needed to be a fascinating airport investigation drama. There is no shortage of real-life cases to draw from.
Instead, it gives us a “prodigy” protagonist who solves the investigation through increasingly absurd clues: from detecting gold because of the temperature of a suitcase’s wheels, to locating a family thanks to a barely visible identification plate on a pole in the background of a photograph, or interpreting the position of two dolls as an emergency signal.
All of this comes with exaggerated little “genius at work” micro-expressions every time she is about to discover something nobody else could possibly notice.
The actual case could have been interesting. The way they investigate it is tedious, contrived, and ridiculous.
I don’t need the other eight episodes. Dropped.
