K-Drama Hana Korea: An Interesting Story, a Painfully Boring Film
A human story worth telling, but not necessarily in this way. Frederik Sølberg turns a North Korean defector's struggle to adapt to life in Seoul into an almost documentary-like experience, filled with endless silences, trivial conversations, and reflections that contribute little to the narrative.
Kim Min-ha delivers a decent performance, but the film is so painfully boring that you eventually stop caring about what happens to her character.
An interesting story doesn't necessarily make an interesting film.
