According to OSEN on the 6th, Jung Yu Mi recently received a script offer to play Kim Ji Hun’s wife for Netflix’s new series “Love Affair.” After reviewing it positively, she has essentially decided to take on the role.
The premise appears somewhat similar to The World of the Married, though it is said that the level of expression and the development of the story will be even more bold and provocative.
The drama is scheduled to begin filming in the first half of this year, with plans to start shooting as early as this month. Some scenes are also reportedly planned for overseas location filming in Spain.
Production will be handled by FNC Story, and it will be distributed globally through Netflix.
Can “Shining” break JTBC’s streak of underperforming Friday dramas? The drama’s director said he feels both anticipation and pressure.
Director Kim said, “Of course there is both expectation and pressure that this project will perform well in the Friday series time slot.” He added, “Among ourselves, we talked about how once the story of Tae Seo and Eun A begins and viewers follow the time the two create together, they might feel compelled to keep watching. There is pressure, but there is also excitement.”
Regarding the drama’s strengths, Park Jin Young said, “Anyone who has experienced love will find it impossible not to relate. Love is a universal and commonly used theme, but our drama shows it in detail as if through a magnifying glass. It’s a story about all of us, so I believe viewers will enjoy it.”
Kim Min Ju added, “It’s a story everyone can relate to, and the visuals are beautiful as well, so I think just watching it will feel healing.”
Park Min Young says she survived on 3L of water a day… Method acting in ‘Siren’
To fully immerse herself in the character, Park Min Young not only lost weight but also changed her daily routine, drinking more than 3 liters of water a day during filming. This was meant to realistically portray Han Seol A’s lifestyle in the drama, where the character survives mainly on whiskey and water without proper meals, as set by writer Lee Young.
She also learned wood carving herself and interviewed real auctioneers to accurately portray the profession.
Kim Nam Gil was previously reported to play the main lead, however his agency Gilstory ENT said: “Kim Nam-gil has received an offer to appear in ‘Nightmare’ and is currently reviewing it. His appearance has not been confirmed yet.”
