Hmm, I'm on ep23. I thought the show was pretty realistic and logical until the case if the girl who needed surgery a couple of episodes back. Then, in this episode, two characters somehow ended up on a secluded mountain road after arresting a bad guy in the city at a location that can be reached via taxi. I'm not at the end yet, but at this point, I agree with the other comments about this turning into a bit of a mess. The show started so well. It was easily one of the most gripping shows I've seen this year. It's a shame if it falls flat at the end.

I think in general hair length is variable for the same character in costume dramas. Supposedly, they have the hair "up" in different ways (tight bun, bun with some hair flowing, hair flowing with sides held back), so the length differs.

But realistically, the bun will need to be much bigger to hold hair of that length. That happens in almost all the shows when characters go between the neat (hair up) style and the unkempt (hair down) style. This show just have more styles for ML than the usual two, heheh

I suspect the cure probably involves seriously harming ML and maybe also FL. I think Little white dragon is too kind to know that kind of procedure. It kind of reminds me of DFS get to Level 8 of Beifeng Baiyan in
Mysterious lotus casebook. The meridians has to be completely destroyed and remade. Except there was nothing cheesy about LLH and DFS (just the best frenemy vibes)

I dislike the poison plot. I think that is being over-used. But I am starting to think it is an important story element in this show in order to connect the team with Old Bug and Poison Valley. I suspect the death of Feng's master is tied to the Yesha case

I don’t think ML is vindicated yet in the prison scene, at least not publicly. The leader of their camp said he didn't think there'd be a day that he'd entrust his life to a suspect. I'm in the middle of 20 and decided to stop while it's in a good place

Old bug said your "junior sister" is your antidote. He fed him something. My mandarin isn't great (I speak Cantonese). But I think old bug said don't think about biting your tongue to kill yourself. He started doing the acupuncture and said he tried this with others and no one survived before. It's like 9:1 odds of death:live. More accurate to say 10 death 0 life.

So yes, I think this is the cure and I agree is super cheesy.

Oh no! I like TS. But he is the one I am most worried about since his role on the team is a little too similar to FL. I guess I'll just keep watching amd hoping I'm wrong.

I wished they didn't do the happy "what do you to do in the future" interlude in episode 16. In a drama, that is like tempting fate and asking for bad things to happen. I hope I am wrong, but I think someone from the group is not going to make it...

I started this after finishing Coroner's diary. I find the leads less mature and sympathetic here. This also has story elements that I think is over-used in c-drama to force tension. I suspect much of the bad ratings come from viewers reacting poorly that one particular plot element. I don’t like it myself but will keep watching since this is an enjoyable watch otherwise.

I like the show and plan to continue. Costume detective drama is my favorite genre. This one has good production value and is fast-paced. It's been a fun watch so far. I am on episode 12 now. I just hope my instinct (from watching lots of cdrama) is wrong and the 'team' of 5 all survives at the end

Hmm, I hope they don't go the mysterious lotus casebook or Guardians of Dafeng route with ML. I am only 8 episodes in. But I think the clues are pointing to the ML being linked to the unknown mysterious "big bad" and being pushed to fulfil some sort of destiny (that the ML is opposed to). I hope I'm wrong though. That route rarely ends well for the ML and I like happy endings

On episode 3. I can't believe they used the only story element I don’t like in Mysterious lotus casebook (which I otherwise love) here. Why do the writers think that's a good idea?! Argh! I really hope they resolve that (quickly and differently).

I am only halfway in episode 1 and I already don't like ML or FL. I can't quite put my finger on why. Maybe I am comparing them to the leads Coroner's Diary. The leads here just seem so immature and conceited by comparison. I'll try to be patient though. I love costume detective shows and this looks promising.

Is this a re-imagining of Justice Bao? Some of the characters names are the same or similar and some of the cases make nods to important story elements in some of the iconic stories (5 mice, the Pan case and the famine). I read chinese so I was watching traditional chinese subtitles, and those reads like the old poetic speech too that I rarely see now which seems like hommage to some sort of original material too.

I held off watching after the first episode so I can binge. I almost cried at the start of ep2 with the mom's story. It explains so much. I think I'm going to need a lot of tissues before the show is through

This show is so fun. All the mains are likeable and have great chemistry. The mysteries are a bit obvious but it's nice to watch the FL and ML follow the leads and find evidence.
