it was good imo, it was a nice setup for the introduction of the characters and nothing was too confusing

ok I finished the first episode, the subs are definitely improved over the machine translated ones, but they are *slightly* out of sync and some sentences are skipped over. but I 100% understood the episode, just had to replay a few scenes

ok I figured it out, the mobile app has the better subs, if you try to watch on desktop it has the machine translated subs

that ending was so... just lol
the beginning was good, it got boring in the middle, but the ending picked up and I was thoroughly interested even with the plot holes/bad writing

the action sequences in part 1 are some of the best ive ever seen... it makes sense they took over a year between finishing filming and airing this to work on the CGI/do reshoots

this drama's writing is all over the place but I cant say im bored. I look forward to seeing how much worse pyo jaehyun can get each episode lmao

I saw an interesting viewpoint on tiktok how people from different countries may view the ep10 massacre differently, as a US viewer, people (including myself) may be more traumatized and triggered due to these events happening quite frequently in real life, compared to viewers from Korea/Asia, where these events do not occur, and thus are able to easier compartmentalize what happened as simply not based in reality or as fantasy

well said, regarding what happened w wonbin, apparently the actor said he was supposed to have a scene showing him getting injured and returning to base camp (which still doesn’t really make sense imo bc he would never leave the kids)

It didnt have to be a "fairytale ending" the writers could have stuck with the original ending in the webtoon where youngsoo only kills ilha & jangsoo.

FUCK YOUNGSOO. the plots holes are insane I dont even know what to say... im so so angry, how can the writers be so fucking dumb to let every character have great character development only then to mass kill them all in the finale (which is not even in the webtoon). I dont think Ive ever been more mad in a kdrama ending ever, this is just ridiculous

one of the things duty after school does very well compared to other similar shows (AOUAD or Sweet Home) is the equal character development of all the characters.. I feel like I know a little bit about all of them & have grown attached to them through watching this, some are annoying but at the end of the day, I can't say I dislike any of them really..
