I mean if you enjoy watching historical characters and all drama and treason and conspiracy, then yes, coz the King portrayed here is considered as one of the best kings of Joseon and from what I have read, his way to throne and his reign was interesting.
But if you like rom - com historical dramas, try "secret romantic guesthouse". It's one of my fav kdramas. Or if you want just pure comedy with a bit of thriller, try " royal Secret agent " with Kim Myungsoo as the lead.
I m OBSESSED with Mr. Park at this point and am so intrigued by his character, curious what will happen to him, and just his eyes delivering interest love, who needs kiss / intimate scenes for romance?? Nahh. Honestly all characters are good but Mr.Park ahhhh love him. Idk what I will once I finish this drama. I am deliberately watching this super slowly to watch Joon Won playing Mr.Park 😂 am I crazy???

Omg I loved the 10 sec lovestory of Nokdu's brother. Wanted more ! I think if you want a more lovestory focused involving a bit of politics, this would be a great drama !

Idk if this drama is good or bad but for sure I m gonna watch it for JANG SEUNG JO. I am a huge fan of him since 'my familiar wife'. And ngl, I like yeo woojin a lot too.
It's interesting to watch the king and politics story from a different angle after watching 'bossam-the stealer' since they feature a similar timeline . Both of them have some truth and some msg added , which is actually nice to watch. Funny and quite interesting how Kim tae woo plays king's minister but plays that same king in Bossam. Right now on ep 10, I am invested.
Honestly I forced myself to continue seeing so many great reviews but dropped at ep 6. Like only Lee Jong suk and Kim tae woo's screen time were up to my liking. Other moments , I am not feeling it. I had pretty high hopes for this one.
I was so invested in it, but then....I HATED the writers during the last episode for few twists....but then I was also mesmerized at how realistic the depiction was. Loved the last 5 minutes. You need to be open to experience this drama. It's not the typical story . Kinda slow paced but yeah a hidden gem I would say.

Started this only for Jong seok who plays Ho-gyu. Love watching him "our blooming youth" where he plays a loyal, kind , well behaved, soft spoken person . Here, Ho-gyu is totally a contrast with being blunt, assertive , funny but still loyal. Amazing. I am liking Lee min ki here better, having watched him in "because it's my first life" and "beauty inside". I'm on ep 10 right now, and it's getting interesting.

I totally enjoyed comparing the tale of nokdu and bossam,the stealer.
