I keep getting Fifty Shades creepy controlling vibes from Yi Gon. He's always flexing and saying things like... "You're gonna stay here, I won't let you go back" is that supposed to sound seductive.......... man.
Totally get it. In the USA that would be a HIPPA violation. We must remember that South Korea has only recently…
a bit off topic but my favourite portrayal of mental health issues and recovery has been in the taiwanese drama The world between us. I really appreciate how they focused on the different types of recovery journeys and destigmatised psychiatric hospitals and meds, it was a very well rounded portrayal. I think what western media is lacking is the normalization of the recovery process, the part where you reach out and get help. I guess it isn't as interesting to watch so that's why we don't see that often

The Asian country I am from is, along with SK, one of the developed countries with the highest suicide rates. The taboo around mental health is so unfortunate. I get your point about SK opening up to it. I've noticed how Koreans are getting more and more fascinated with psychology, they even romantise it to some extent. Though I have to say that even in western culture the representation of psychology isn't that much better
By the way therapists aren't supposed to talk to clients outside of their sessions unless the client says hi first. It's not professional. I have had numerous therapists and if they approached me like that I would feel pretty uncomfortable. I feel like kdramas are obsessed with therapists these days but can't seem to get them right. I have yet to see a competent and professional therapist.
i can't wrap my head around the plot, the villain, all these characters. but I love Kim Go Eun so I'm just gonna look for a recap of the plot at the end of the drama lmao
