rewatched again and even better
I enjoyed Absolute Zero and found that it stuck in my mind over time. Sort of haunted me. So I just went back a year later to rewatch and must say it is way better than a lot of folks give it credit. Slow burn? Yes, takes it's time. Confusing at times but I get tired of the silly GMMTV cookie cutter BLs in university and bodies bouncing around with over inflated libidios and tired old BL tropes. I mean how many times can we watch the falling into a kiss gimmick; smart phones that run out of power (does no one in Asia have a charger), or the evil young woman who wants to break couples up for revenge or ego? Not saying they can't be fun (but not a steady diet), please.
The age difference doesn't bother me but, yes, they could have cast an actor who looked closer to the right age and a little less angsty but it still works.
While rewatcing it without having to figure out some of the intricate plotting I was able to surrender to it and it was rewarded with a greater experience and new found appreciation for what they were trying to accomplish. If you want some fluff and fun, lots out there to watch. If you want to think a bit about the nature and complexity of loving someone, take the time to view this.
