My favorite drama mom is Lee Il Hwa in both Reply 1997 and in Reply 1994. I love her personality and the way she…
I like Lee Il Hwa better in Reply 1994. She really cared for the kids in the boarding house and her past experience with her first-born was :'(

My mom got me into Asian dramas. She has a long list of historical, wuxia, family, revenge, tearjerker and rom-com dramas under her belt. She just finished watching Innocent Man, 100-Year Legacy and is now watching You Who Came from the Stars. All of which I haven't even watched yet!

I can't say I've successfully converted my daughter. She's more into Japanese dramas and anime more than any other Asian stuff. But we do watch dramas together from time to time. We did that with Akumu-chan (which made her a Kitagawa Keiko fan) and The Master's Sun (which made her a Gong Hyo Jin fan--before that she already liked SJS).

Out of the list, I like Lee Il Hwa the most. In both Reply series the parents have a tragic experience but I felt that her pain as a mother was more pronounced in 1994.

Ghost-seeing detective now time-traveling...Oguri Shun is surely going with the trend...I'll wait for the trailer.
That is so true, and so has ghost-seeing detective themed dramas. I hope he is doing just that--picking what he's interested in. There would have been lots of other themes he could have picked, ne?

There must be something wrong with the MDL search. I searched for comedy Japanese movies and this pulled up. How is this comedic?

Park Min Young is not that bad. But she does carry the same kind of acting in her dramas. It would be nice if she could make a distinctive behavior out of her character this time. Not fond of her, but that's me!

I know what you mean, and I think the part where she seals her decision after talking to the snake makes up the self-reflection. But I can't help thinking that she became tied to what she thought was the truth and by continuing to do so also meant they the king and letting the snake keep her position. I understand that she did it for herself and Myongnong but what she discarded were important things, too. Making this decision made her not only give up Myongnong but everything else as well, and that made her a martyr.

That aside though, I am enjoying her new mission. Who knew this spy business was so good to watch? Poor Solnan, heartbroken and burying herself in work. But Myongnong is more pitiful!

Ugh. I don't think it's for me then. :| I'm b*tchy as it is with Solhi alone. Any more of that virus and my pillows will suffer the consequences! XD

Surprisingly, I don't hold it to the King. I mean, the swap was an added plot device, but he could have been more affectionate to Jinmu-gung because after all, he is his own. He is definitely a bad parent! *smh*

I like the way they imply that Marshall Hae is supposed to pay for the things he'd done in the past especially the part where he is partly to blame for the death of Chaehwa and her father. You know that part where Solnan met Makgeum and Marshall Hae was talking to the Queen? I loved how they visually presented the storytelling and they flashed Kuchon in those parts too, so that made it complete. And then that Mishil-like music playing at the background--icing on top.

Aha! So Cunning Single Lady is watchable? No, wait let me rephrase that before you strangle me! So Lee Min Jung is actually watchable...? :| Wait a minute, you rated it 6! How is that squee-worthy? It's confusing! XD

Ooh! I have never thought of their resemblance before! I see it!

I can see that they made Solnan a quiet, trying to be rational and controls herself when she's about to explode. But my blood was boiling and I couldn't understand why she couldn't let go of a slap when her snake of a half-sister deserves one! She just walked away without putting up a fight for her birth right. And screw it, whether or not she becomes princess, she thinks she and Myongnong are related so their relationship can't continue either way. Gawd, I'm so carried away! Solhi's past insolent, and I can't think of one solitary word to describe her! >.<

Same here! I was looking at this and was thinking, 'wow, a new Kim Myung Min drama!' and then 'oh no, wait, there's Park Min Young,' but then 'There's Big Daddy!' :)

Okay, now what currently airing drama makes you squee?? What is it! I demand to know! XD

I honestly do not know what you and I see in him. In 49 Days, I remember he wasn't this swoon-worthy! I swear he is not my type of handsome but now him in this~! Why does this happen to me?!

XD XD Well you know, she's not doing it--yet! She kind of toned down. So the puffy eye bags aren't that noticeable. I got to the part where Solnan confronted her about her birth secret and thought it was anti-climactic. The flashbacks and build up were missing so when she just told Solhi about the time she went to Kalim to expose Solnan as a double and the time she got locked up in the shed, the grudge felt lacking. But I loved Solnan's sneer when she said. 'Diga, aniya.' to her and I caught myself imitating her expression! XD

I felt the same way and I really wanted to pull her hair and poke her eyes out every time she flexes her facial muscles! XD

I didn't like Myongnong in the beginning of their romance but well into the drama he became so handsome to me, unnie! Q____Q Good gawd! He wasn't so handsome before but now I'm even checking out the dramas and movies in his profile! XD

There'll be another addition to the side characters around the middle episodes...and he's adorable I think you'll like him. :)

It hasn't happened yet and I'm at Ep 75. But I think that will happen soon because Solnan just found out about her birth secret.

Unnie, those episodes where you're at is where the romance steadily builds up. :) Tell me what you think of Myongnong later! ^_^

I'm enjoying the result as it is. Gawd, Jo Hyun Jae is really working it! :D Thank you, show, for not showing us stiff spoons and wide-eyed fishes! I've been stifling my screams into my pillow since this afternoon! And it's almost 5 in the morning here! Q____Q

Oh any moment now, I can feel her transforming into a witch again! O___O
