This is taking a direction I'm not too fond of. I was not a fan of ML before that much, didn't mind him, but the new ML, not at all. and this level of the triangle, endless torture for me. Sad :(
I agree. At the beginning as a child and in the first episodes, I fellt like she is a tuff and bold girl that…
That's what I think too, she has signs of a spoiled kid. I have some friends and relatives who had to be tough and none of them are like this, they all are mostly very serious people, perhaps more sensitive but serious still. I moved out of my family house around her age so, it's not really young in my opinion to be serious and mature. But as I said it's what I like I don't like childish girls, general behavior. I like serious women. And for me, that's what makes the age gap uncomfortable. I think I wouldn't like the romance more if there was no age gap but had the same female character either.
One of the reasons why I don't like triangles is that they make me develop some kind of negative feelings for the leads. And what's with the awkward " daughter and niece " scenes. I think I was more embarrassed than them. :))) I don't really have a problem with the age gap, it actually makes the story interesting, but I really liked it more if the fl was a little more mature and serious because that's what I generally like. And now amnesia, Oh please don't make it long! It would pain me to watch. And please don't mix it with a strong love triangle, please:((((
Where is the misogyny in this though? Should a spade not be called a spade? As far as I can see so far, the Writer…
Thank you for the reply. You are entitled to your opinion. I only have a different view.
When I have never seen someone say "managing crazy men" I consider it misogyny, and 'managing' what is that supposed to mean? Why should a man manage another adult person out of business context?
I have seen so many crazy men doing crazy things, screaming, showing anger, losing the money they were inherited or earned, hurting people, but nobody deprives them of their inheritance and rights.
I never justified anyone. But I don't see people as good or evil. Perhaps some people are darker than others, and some hurt other people, we probably resent them, but we are mostly dark. and just because I resent someone doesn't mean I can't follow a basic logic to understand their behavior and what led them here. That doesn't mean they are justified. I meant by mentioning the mother that I have seen so many women around me gather up some kind of anger and depression due to not being taken seriously. Many were housewives, and many were working women. We can be who we want to be if we try hard enough, but we are mostly the product of our environment and the chain of events and circumstances, and our families at the end of the day.
No matter the reason why she is here, the father most probably enjoyed his time with her since she was younger and had a daughter with her. If he considered them adults and gave them their own money or at least to her daughter, this wouldn't be happening. If the father didn't want her around, he mustn't have played with her, had a child with her, or must have made himself clear by not keeping her around for fun. Not considering her daughter an adult, no matter what she does with the money, and basically wanting to give it to her husband, is also misogyny. Because as I said, men lose their money for no good reason too, but they don't usually are treated this way.
As for Dan Dan, I don't hate the stepmother, I'm not too fond of her, I also understand the mother and why she left for a better life.
Anyway, this show is based on Korean culture, and this is a fact that Korea still doesn't have a good place in the gender gap index. So not all of these are my imagination.
I know this may be a heavy subject on a site like this, so I make it short, but when I read the comments, I understand how misogyny is rooted in our thoughts, 'managing Crazy Women', and that's just sad.
I'm not too fond of Se Ryeon's mom, but I understand why a woman wants to be with a rich man, especially in a still patriarchal country, like Korea. Women are still financially in a lower position and don't have the resources and comfort as men do. Anyway, I don't see anyone blaming the father, he didn't even marry her, and he didn't leave her anything.
And his daughter, can't have her part if she never gets married? I hope her brother gives it back to her before she marries.
It's funny how everyone puts themselves in the hero's shoes. It's natural, of course, but where do you think all the enemy and evil people ( which I don't call them that way since they are us to some extent) we see out there come from? Mars? Most people are just not good, and they are as selfish as anyone else. But bashing one without seeing the other one's flaw is entirely biased and wrong.
Anyway, these are just my opinion. And I'm still enjoying the show ( not the triangle part:D).
This show somehow reminds me of Awaken, which I liked more. It has a similar vibe.
Ok, episode 11 was just stupid; someone could easily go to their secret rooms? I had a problem with connecting to Jang Ki Yong's character. I don't want to say he is a terrible actor, but it's like what he and all the similar actors want to be is being cool and handsome, like a good-looking mannequin for presentation. I know this is the base of Korean pop culture, but I'm not too fond of it. There must be something more than looks since looks are my last factor when watching a show. It's too theatrical.
I guess even the father thinks that if it was someone else also they would think them as con artists... so, yeah…
We know that they are going to have a relationship, so I can understand someone may have this perspective, but in reality, it's degrading. They both made a mistake and a misunderstanding followed that. So this is the right thing to do, not something to be praised for. Someone may say that they are rich so they won't usually admit they did wrong, that's actually what happens in real life. I imagine myself in that situation, not in the cute, loving, and romantic side, but in the usual side. And it's just annoying for me because I don't like it for myself.
I don't like this kind of interaction. You are an employee, you do a job, and you are paid for the service. That's all. Just because they are rich doesn't mean someone has to submit, even because of a mistake.
But this is another world.
honestly, I know why they make it this way, it's one of the overused clichés, most people like these fantasies, but I just can't get past the idea. I like the show in general, so I'm putting a blind over these upsetting moments.
In my opinion, if we look at it logically, as an aspect that puts all the words and concepts that we created and defined the problem by them, like the words cousin, sister, brother, mother, father and marriage and so on, there are two sides to it for real siblings and cousins: *It happens in nature whether we like it or not. So it's not as impossible as we are taught it is. *Why did they forbid it in the first place? Perhaps because they saw that the children of them had problems. so they somehow related it to be ungodly and evil. But now we know why that happens. I'm not defending this kind of love, let me say this, but I think even it was not forbidden, no one wants to be with someone who knows everything about them. We want someone who doesn't know us and we don't know them. Like how they say that after living together as husband and wife for so long, you grow to have a different kind of love from what you had in the start. What if they never have children, what logical explanation forbids them to be together? I honestly don't find one but the above I mentioned, and the fact that we are raised to be conditioned.
As for the step-siblings, again other than the factor that growing up with someone means they are like a part of you, and they know everything about you and that means it's hard to fall for them(don't you hate your siblings sometimes?) I don't see any other reason logically why they can't be together, It's just culture, and a piece of paper.
These are rules that we created to help us live like civilized creatures, and are good of course, but there are reasons behind them that perhaps in a million years, they won't be needed anymore.
It takes me so long to finish even one episode so I'm actually happy it's only two once a week. Still, it is awkward, which I expected of course, but that scene when the father sees the ml and runs to him, and then he says he is humble! I hate these scenes.
My rating is 7.5. I was not very engaged watching it and I didn't really care what would happen, the acting was fairly good and the action scenes overall were good too, but the whole show was not engaging to me and I believe the story was not very coherent and intriguing.

I really don't want to answer, this would be the last reply I write here. I still believe the thing I said, and just because the person disagreed with me because probably they wanted to just disagree with me, the harsh way they responded that I didn't do to that extend, I still believe they were genuinely not interested in knowing for the sake of knowing. As for your answer you know It's exactly because it's not like that!! As a matter of fact, I rarely write this show is boring. I always give good reasons if I don't like a show. But I don't think I have to explain myself to anyone. But I guess you have never done that, saying just this show is boring. I actually wrote what I didn't like about this show, and the first response was, "go watch it and actually pay attention to the show" or someone just indirectly said shut up to my root comment. But I still explained my reason to them, very long, very respectfully. No one said I understand what you say, but we disagree. Because I didn't change my mind and I still haven't. They just wanted to say I was wrong and change my mind. And they didn't start the conversation nicely. Let's be honest, if you really have that intention you could easily just say that! You see, if you write good things about this show, or just say I really liked it, for example, nobody would ask you why, and I haven't seen many actually. I believe you ask people on the show you didn't like, why someone specifically liked it? If you really are interested to know why someone didn't like a show, just directly and respectfully ask them, and don't talk in a manner that they are wrong. They can have their opinion as you do about other shows. You can disagree but you can't punch them in the face and expect them to hug you.

Why did you delete your comment? I made a good point out of that. Yes, you responded to my reply so I replied back. And as I said and reasoned my opinion was not based on a whim.

There is no need to assume anything. The intentions are as obvious as can be. Do you want to know why I say this? I have good reasons: **The name of their profile is the name of this show FFS, I doubt he is just curious! :)) I can be wrong? Ok. **I have seen too many responses like this, to my own comments and others', to know what is exactly the intention and where this is going. Again I can be wrong? Ok. **Ok, if the person was just curious then couldn't they just look at their list? No? **You guys always want to lower the worth of someone's opinion by saying "calm down". **You think people don't know what their taste about something is? That you need to explain it to them? Really? I'm honestly amazed by this.
For example, someone like me didn't like this show, and I like a slice of life. And I think, not sure, that the person who commented here, like me, knows what they like and don't like. But you ask questions, in a manner, as there is no other possibility, there must be a problem with the opinion. That we can't simply don't like a show.
This is more than a coincidence to not see a pattern here.

The person who asked about the ratings or the one who commented, who wants recommendations? Because I can not see any of them happening. That person obviously loves this show and the other one didn't ask for recommendations.
