If you read the book you even get a better understanding on how mess up his perspective is. Because I’m the book once Tian You meet Jiang Sheng it’s game over, he is the one paying for her food, clothes and university. She is totally dependent on him. And the only reason they have stiff is yea because TY does have LS fingers cut, but that because LS let his biological brother rape JS. So TY gets super mad and cut his fingers. But from beginning to end JS never sees LS has more than a brother.
