So I read your review and I can't understand: You have only praises for this show, but gave a steady 5 for all the categories. 5 is not even sufficient.
Usually I'm happy when you're happy. I enjoyed a lot of dramas that you liked, but this time I can't concur. I found this plot a bit childish, without any depth, repetitive. I didn't like the FL and I couldn't relate to these houses of joy where women go only to drink and enjoy chaste little shows... They say women command, but they're timid and chaste anyway. To cut the long story short, they couldn't drag me into the story. I was disturbed and bothered, irritated. Dissatisfied. C'est la vie!
Preaching?? Putting domestic violence in the forefront of society, having real conversations, that is preaching?…
Perhaps who "does" domestic abuse doesn't watch this show, but we're in China, where women are fighting to dispel an archaic meaning of human being. I'm in Italy and even here, where laws says we are egual to men, there are too many instances of domestic abuse, mostly perpetrated by men to women. Mostly. Sometimes victims don't even know they're abused... (I'm not watching this show, yet)
I'm reading all your reviews and, for the series I watched, I normally concur with your ideas, so I'm using you as a list of drama to choose ;) Well, your reviews are very well written, more detailed, and have more indepth than mine... Then, I'm Italian and my reviews are in Italian, but I'm rambling. This time, though, I have to say I didn't find this title so exceptional as you depict it. It was all so vague and lacking of a precise direction. Yes, we see the main leads developing friendship, but the cases described don't have a narrative thread. It's all suspended, without rhyme or reason, thus I found it a little unsatisfactory.
So, I dropped this show at the 17th mark. I went so far only for Gong Jun, he was the saving grace of this show, really. Only, even him couldn't hold me till the end.
Well, I read all your rant and I can understand your point of view. Sadly, I can't concur in toto. Perhaps I'm not that hard to please, but I enjoyed this drama a lot. Yes, Lee Joon Gi is lithe, but he's a fine fighter, what's the problem with his height and weight? His fights were credible. I concur that, in the end, Hee Woo resolved nothing, but the assumption of this drama is that evil adjusts itself, the situation is always recreated. He fought against a mighty enemy that wasn't the powerful Assemblyman, but the entire system. It's obvious that, in the end, it will be a useless victory. All the drama is permeated by a despondent air. Where I can relate it's when you say there's too many characters: that I can gladly concur, it's a bit too much. Well, a lot too much. They dragged a little, I can admit it. I hope I wrote this right, I'm a self-learned Italian old lady... ;)
I had a lot of qualms too. Then, I reflected that if this is a comedy, even if a gruesome one, then we don't have to take it serious too much. When we watch a costume fantasy, we don't expect a lot of things, and we expect a series of other things. I decided to watch this as a dark fairy tale. As such, it's very enjoyable.
Terrificante.
Sadly I have to concur: it's a boring drama, and I didn't like the actors. A plank is often more expressive than them. The ML cries half the time and the rest is not better. Dropped in desperation at ep 12.

It will be my new motto. You don't mind, do you?
Thank You!
