I think Beauty of Resilience ended like this, but I'm not sure.

Since it’s a mainland Chinese drama about modern social issues, there’s almost no chance it’ll end badly. Stories involving crime, trauma, or justice must be approved by the censorship bureau, and they always require a positive and law-abiding resolution, the system has to win, justice must be served, and the message has to promote social harmony. So she’ll definitely get justice, and the couple will heal together. It’s basically guaranteed under China’s review policies.

Just to clarify, I don’t know any spoilers or the real ending, I’m just saying this based on how the censorship system works in China. Even if the original story was tragic or ended with injustice, once it goes through censorship, the drama usually changes completely, especially when it portrays contemporary settings or sensitive issues that touch on government responsibility.

For those who are worried it might have a terrible ending, I have a theory:

I agree with you, the drama was amazing and didn’t deserve such a low score at the Douban. But in China it turned into a social issue after the fire extinguisher scene, the leads were shown playing with it as if it was for fun, and since firefighters are highly respected there, misusing their image caused backlash and protest ratings. Plus, there was extra drama about the acting, with some saying the supporting role outshone Yang Yang. 😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨

I must confess this is the first time I've seen Wang Duo in such a charismatic role, even with some humorous moments, despite playing a villain. He usually portrays dignified men with a distant aura and restrained beauty. I loved seeing this more playful side of him as Wang Chan. 🩷

Han Li is the only protagonist treating cultivation like a tactical RPG, working hard, looting bodies, and walking away with a full set of magical gear 😭🩷🩷🩷

Han Li really does have a four-element spirit root (wood, water, fire, and earth) which is considered the worst possible combination. These elements conflict with each other, making cultivation extremely difficult. And that's exactly what sets this drama apart: it's about how he progresses not through divine talent, but through sheer patience, discipline, and consistent effort. He’s not the typical “chosen one”, he climbs step by step despite all the disadvantages. ✨

Just a quick note: this drama isn't actually from 2025. Despite being released this year, It was completed a few years ago and shelved for a while, which happens to a lot of C-Dramas due to regulations and bureaucratic delays. Not saying that excuses the issues, I haven't even watched it yet.

Those are literally the main plot threads of season one. It's probably best to just watch it from the start, it clears up a lot.

I’m so frustrated that this character simply kept the DISASTROUS mistake he made a secret and just went on to the ‘virtuous’ path, guiding the human leaders. Come on, you just destroyed the divinity of the goddess you venerate! I at least wanted to see tears of remorse and moments of severe introspection.

By chance I know a lot of titles with plots like this:
Ancient Detective, The Moon Brightens For You, The Ingenious One, No Boundary, Oh My General, I Am Nobody

The drama consistently shows that the FL can survive on her own. The ML supports her but rarely steps in. Still, I found it particularly unsettling how misfortunes kept piling up on her again and again.

I'm at ep 21, and I swear to God, it bothers me so much that every time the ML leaves the city, something beyond awful happens to the FL—like attempted murder, violence, betrayal, and even slavery.

Besides that, awesome drama 🙏🏻
