The first article on here about his passing being about alleged false rumors and censorship does not do him justice at all... No one expects real journalism which often involves danger from a blog, which means you could've stayed neutral and honored his legacy, shown his popular roles, him singing, etc. This is sad. RIP Yu Meng Long.
Why mdl is not posting anything about his murder/death ? The authors are so active when it comes to dating ,what…
This case involves powerful individuals and a government; they're probably too scared to post about this as everything is being censored and they risk getting sued. I don't blame them, this is their bread and butter and they're (hopefully) just regular people behind the site, and not everyone can handle being a messenger and what may come with being one.
Also, international news outlets with the general population watching is more of a pressure on any government than this niche site, which might make it even less appealing to post about in the first place. But I am glad that the comments are not being deleted right away. I'm sure they're aware.
US site has taken notice. https://m.economictimes.com/news/international/us/yu-menglong-stomach-cut-open-for-usb-drive-chilling-video-and-audio-clips-allegedly-before-chinese-actor-alan-yus-death-surface-heres-what-we-know-so-far/articleshow/124107033.cms
That's an Indian publication, not American (Bennett, Coleman & Co. Ltd. is based in Mumbai, India). It simply has an English version for the site, which is still good
I've seen too many people defending this author and other weird authors especially in the Japanese entertainment industry, so when I first read your reply to me denying what I wrote : "NO sources online", it is easy to assume you either did not research hard enough or that you are defending him. This could've been avoided if your first reply to me was asking for a source, and not simply denying what I said in capital letters, hence the sarcasm in my response. What I will apologize for is not adding more information/detail in my initial comment, you are right. That would've made this exchange much more pleasant. I am sorry about your experience. I'm glad you're not defending him after all, and no, I won't change my comment so you don't have to worry, keep your screenshots if you want.
If you want to come to the defense of a convicted pedophile just because you liked this movie, at least make it clear what you're confused about. Yes, he was convicted and paid a fine and yes, he still profits from the series. His work resumed a few months after he paid the fine and other famous mangakas still hold him in high regards publicly, that's Japan for you though. Plenty of information online, no rebuttal and you want me to think you tried?
I wish it was longer because I liked watching princess Zhao Hua's actress and it felt like too much at once (especially ep. 5) + I would've liked to see some romance, but I think they did okay with the short amount of episodes they were given. The last scene with the iconic song from the opening was pretty.

AND I TAKE BACK WHAT I SAID ABOUT "哥哥" aka Yuan Chunwang !!! man is more than "kind of unhinged"
Also, was Ying Luo still in love with Fuheng? She seems happy with the emperor but her answer to Fuheng's question in the last episode made me think about what could've happened during those 10 years

Came back after finally finishing the show, and wow... It took me a while to finish it even though I breezed through the first 40 episodes, but it was worth it. The ending was beautiful.
I did not expect liking this show as much as I did, it's not the type of show I'd normally go for (palace schemes, fights between consorts/empress) as they usually have an event that makes me drop them, but this was actually satisfying to watch. I loved so many characters and I LOVE Wei Yingluo! The opening of this show is probably my favorite, it was hard to skip sometimes.
Special shout-out to Mingyu, loved her character development.

Specifically after Noble Consort Gao's death, I did not like the direction of the story, and while I might change opinions after I complete the show, I think it might not have needed 70 episodes. (I'm also sad about her "betraying" her 哥哥, I was hoping they'd be on good terms forever even though he's kind of unhinged but I don't really blame him) Everyone in this show suddenly turned crazy... and I can't really ship her with the Emperor, but I do want to see my girl Ying Luo happy so I'll tolerate it
I fell in love with the show and I'm now at episode 42 almost 43, but things got worse for me after a certain event. Will continue to watch, but I'm kinda sad lol
