Exactly I thought the same, the character needed a psychiatrist for his addiction to sex.. even his parents and sister thought so.. Remember the sister saying (I think) who would want to be with him, he is crazy the other is a weirdo they are made for each other... lol

Thats still the decent part. All hell breaks loose after that.. So good decision to not continue.. For me it was the same i started reading the book after watching the first 4 episodes wanted to get ahead. I kept reading it with the progress of the show and ruined my experience of the show. I just had to know how the book ends so didnt drop it but that stuff was so disgusting even after skipping pages it was hard to flush it all out.

If they decided to follow the novel closely they would have to make a porn film or several for that matter as there is so much tasteless content in the book.. lol! The book is thematic around sex, punishment, torture, possession and power wrapped with the label of love.
After reading all your comments i am reminded of a few more gruesome details...
The show on the other hand though flawed tickles you and leaves you wanting for more..

The book is 1200+ pages long. To compare the intensity the characters are very loosely based on the book like the show says 'adapted'. They have picked key events from the book and threaded them together in the story . The characters are much darker especially CC in the book (very much sexualized). There are several chapters which go in to graphic details of the sexual acts some difficult to read. I consider a lot of it sexual abuse, BDSM type punishment, no boundaries even among characters who are friends. There is racism in the book which is humorized and I may be forgetting a bunch of stuff to call it out here
The show is more mature and sensitive given the book was written in 2014. The characters have been sensitized and appear much softer when compared to the book.

Hey everyone.. I have been confused about whether i should watch this one inspite of the rave reviews.. Heard terrific stuff about it but was not inclined to watch it since I dont enjoy censored adaptations. they feel like they are neither here nor there... but after reading recent chats about this show and the comments here I so badly want to watch it.. please advise

Its funny how the tables have turned.. Washizawa was doing the chasing but Suzuki is so jealous and in love. Looking forward to the reunion story unraveling next week

Good catch about the mention of the favorite place. I got stuck on the mushy part about finding his future wife there and didnt think this :)

This one's getting to the point of being barely tolerable. MildKnight have no chemistry, i am surprised PerKan are more bearable. Inspite of such an important incident being brought up towards the end of today's episode - it felt flat, didnt stir any emotions for me usually I am very sensitive to the topic.
And whats up with Mud.. the actor is annoying

I want to watch this show but I dont fancy horror plots and barely have tolerance for thrill.. havent seen a single horror show or movie... sometimes horror as a genre can be misleading so sincerely asking - is this truly horror? want to know how graphic it is.

I had mixed feelings about this after watching the first episode and I liked and I didnt. I guess i was not too keen on Mile's hippie character somehow. Apo's gorgeousness was killing it, so many mixed confused emotions so I skipped ep 2 and even thought of dropping it. Now reading all your comments here I want to go back. Dont know what to do!

Well said.. I am with you on this.. Jiang Heng is a weak actor and I usually tend to ignore it when he is in the same frame with the other three MLs. they have such a strong screen presence

Yes i did hear they are given more representation on the show than there is in the novel but still considering by what we usually see in shows normally the screen time far from matches up.
Plus Gao Tu is the character i enjoy watching the most
