I rarely say this for a first episode, but we might be looking at one of the best dramas of the year.

This show is stunning, please watch if you haven't started. I stumbled across this on Netflix and loved Park Jin Young in our unwritten Seoul, so i decided to watch this. This lowkey gives the same vibe as well.

I just finished the first 5 episodes. I tuned in because everyone was watching lmao

First of all, this show is soooooo gorgeous. It seems like the director is the same as Blossom, which is why the colouring and cinematography are stunning!

The plot is really good (to me) so far. I feel like you can tell if a show might not be as good as you thought in the first 5 episodes, and this and the setup of the future plots seem to be done well. I personally didn't have any expectations beforehand, whether good or bad.

I also love the secret identity trope; I always eat it up!

Zhang Linghe's face card is stunning, and Tian Xi Wei looks stunning as well. The colouring does both of them so well.

Also, S/O to the lady Fan Chang Yu lives with (I think she calls her aunty?), the actress is one of my faves, she's in Story of Minglan as well as Will Love in Spring

This feels like it's going to be a found family, wholesome type show, and a summer release would be PERFECT!

Also has anyone read the novel, I know they have a child at the end but is her pregnancy fast forwarded or written about in the book? I saw a clip of MZY and someone mentioned her character was pregnant but she looked normal to me

Not sure if anyone has said this, but I don't think there is any scene where JZ has to do a lot, has an outburst or considering his past having wail out loud to express how frustrated he is. Aside from the fight with Lin Sui and shouting at snakey he's always so calm and low-key, and that is the beauty of this performance in my opinion it's so well done in such a subtle way utilizing micro expressions to humanize himself, that was my favourite thing about the performance. This is so hard to do because he could've easily slipped into something else that wasn't the character description or even portray the character as boring or cringey but he stayed on track.

Performances were you have to wail, shriek or have a thunderous voice aren't the only one's worthy of prise, subtle and nuanced ones are also worthy.

Hmm I low- key get where you're coming from, as someone who watched it whilst airing the only issue I had with it was the pacing, at first it seems like not much is happening, whilst waiting for episodes to air you think something happens but it doesn't so i'm like maybe tmr then. Things start to pick up tho and you have loads happening at the same time. Nonetheless I enjoyed it!

Yes I’m only on ep 4 or 5 but he’s so sweet and gentle. Especially without his memories all he wants is Fei Ni, even tho she helped him for her own agenda she’s still so kind and gentle with him as well. That girl who exposed her needs to die 😡

That's what I heard as well, some people are saying the Chinese ent industry doesn't have really good scripts anymore so they're relying on reunions to drive the success of the dramas.
