I love He Yu and Esther's relationship. They just match each other's freak, and He Yu just seems so sincere and sweet. I hope they continue to be good friends after this show, something like Bai Lu and Wang Xing Yue. Even though i get people see those 2 as brother and sister

So I also watch dramas like Story of Minglan, Ming Dynasty, Ruyi's Royal love, Rise of the Pheonix that have intricate storylines and complicated characters. They usually achieve what they set out to do wether it is political or Harem Intrigue. Usually when you see an 8.9 score you think the drama will be that way too and you watch TPOB and see the plot is quit simple.
But that's the thing, what's wrong with simple + Romance, not all plots have to be super complicated and nuanced, they executed the romance and storytelling really well for what they planned on delivering which is a romance. Aside from the rushed ending there's nothing wrong with the drama so the score will naturally be high, there's nothing to knock down you know? Not all pure romance dramas get this score, but TPOB got the recipe right. In terms of production quality, it's not that bad tbh, the show Princess Silver had great production quality but the plot was all over the place so it didn't really add anything.
I also feel like the setup of TPOB is a bit delicate, you already have things that happened in the past and wounds that are far from being healed, adding unnecessary stuff and disputes could've broken this show because they NEED to build trust, what the Qiao's did to Wei Shao was insane. Not comparing this show to LLTG at all but even Ling Buyi who had his clan killed, was not normal at all, and the grudge was buried in him for so long, it consumed him in a way, all he could think about was that.
That's how I see it, I have nothing to complain about TPOB, that's why my personal rating is high, and I'm sure for other people too, they said romance and they gave us that lol so I'm satisified.

Yes itās so interesting! I LOVED LGIEF because I felt she embodied it, I enjoyed MJTY as well but still canāt bring myself to watch LBFAD or Ski into Love š. I pick and choose what I watch from every actor
