The scene with Kim Sabi and the young mums father was so intresting to me, Kim Sabi is one of the characters that piqued my interest, she learnt that she needed to be empathetic so she memorized all the right words, but that wasn't what the father needed to hear at the time, human emotions/situations are much more complex and memorizing words can't help, i'm excited to see where her development goes

Just caught up and I'm surprised to see not a lot of people talking about the dynamics and situations we had in these episodes, but the romance lol. EP 3 and 4 were 10x better than the first 2, and if we keep this pace, this will be such a good. teared up twice, being new to something is so scary and awkward, and the residents capture that so well.

I’m not a huge fan of both leads, like I like them but not really watched them n anything so I think i’m unbiased, that being said this is one of the best first episodes I’ve seen in a while and this will probably be a great show but possibly underrated, cinematography and music are also so good, I read some people saying it’s cringey but tbh it looks like the youthful age is meant to be that way I find it cute

Because it’s a drama, if it was more accurate people wouldn’t watch sand it’s not like they disregard the complexities of that time period, they are shown all the time. Plus this is an idol period drama that may also get toned down to be less gruesome or else people won’t watch. Watch more historical accurate dramas that portray this more. Ming Dynasty (cdrama) Ruyi Royal Love in the Palace, Story of Minglan, Rebel princess, serenade of peaceful joy (not all are historically accurate but they do touch on the topics you are referring to imo!

Someone said this on tik tok not sure how true it is but in episode 10 when he walked barefoot in the snow, someone said it’s a parallel and he wanted to feel how she felt that first day she came to the capital walking barefoot in the snow 🥲, which sort of makes sense because why would he remove his shoes and walk barefoot?! 🤨

It’s 2025, let’s leave the sad endings behind please, when I started watching cdramas I really liked sad endings because they were the only ones who dared to do so in the shows I watch, but its okay we get it, they NEED to STOP

I see what you’re saying, I think the concubine acted that way because she assumed she has the fathers backing, the father too seems very meek and a bit scared of her at first but I don’t think he is tbh (we shall see) because when he went there first in ep 7 he approached her kindly before he switched up. It might have to do with him, her and the other guy that liked her because things aren’t adding up

I have trauma from that show, I stopped anticipating shows after it, biggest disappointment of my life. They had such a good concept and first few episodes were insane. Needed to shoot myself as it went on

I understand what you’re saying but for now in interpreted his character a bit differently, WXY character has a strong presence, also had a playful nature that didn’t take away from his character, I didn’t seem like he was hiding anything and you can tell how he feels from his expressions, Duke Su was very expressive. But I see the Ml here as very gaurded and aloof, I don’t think we’re meant to know what he’s thinking (yet) if this carries on then yes I agree but when things start to unfold I expect him to open up a bit more. I think it’s just part of his character design. He also doesn’t seem too rugg the less so far just very direct. We shall see
