i believe this season was based off the manga "alice in borderland retry" where they do go back into the…
Yup, I believe it's loosely based on AIB Retry. Though I personally felt the reason for Arisu's return in the manga was more plausible and understandable. I feel like the only reason they switched it up was so they could include Usagi in the games, as in Retry, she does not return to the borderlands.
I can see that this review is ruffling some feathers. So let me just say this, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. If you loved this season and want to defend it great, good for you. However we don't need to invalidate others or insult them to defend your opinion. If you disliked the season, you are welcome to discuss and share why you feel the way you do.
"By the end, instead of feeling like I had been on a gripping, mind-bending journey, I felt like someone had reheated leftovers from the first two seasons. It technically fed me, but there was no flavour."
Pretty much sums up the season 3 experience unfortunately. But yeah the worst part was the reason for returning to the borderland was terrible. In the original manga sequel, AIB Retry, Usagi is giving birth and Arisu is rushing back to see her. Arisu gets into an accident and is put in a near death state returning to the Borderlands. Now he must survive the games to get back to his wife and newborn child. If that was the premise, I feel like this season could have much better.
Just finished and can't help but feel quite similarly. I don't get why we needed this professor and Usagi relationship…
I get how you feel, definitely one of the worst parts for me was changing Usagi's character to fit/justify their plot.
Yeah also why does Banda have the power to come to the real world to influence things in the first place if he's not the Joker. Why does he have special powers that we haven't seen before? Anyway it's okay, this season doesn't exist to me, as the Season 2 ending was perfect.
bro writing misleading reviews so pathetic no one was a joker it was just a card
I explained it below but anyway. do you know what quotation marks mean? :o he's been implied to be the Joker at the end of last season and what most people remember him as.
I hated the relationship between Usagi and the Professor. It was so complicated; this man tried to kill her on…
haha i just replied basically the same thing to your other comment before seeing this. But yeah like his weird obsession with her right from the first episode was so weird. I need therapy after this season... if they were gonna bring it back they shoulda done it right instead of just another cash grab.
This review is everything I wanted to SCREAM. The first two seasons were pretty conclusive, so I didn't understand…
Bro I know exactly... like why not use original source material to come up with the plot. In Alice In Borderland Retry, Arisu is rushing back to see Usagi because his wife is pregnant. On his way he gets into an accident and is put into a near death state. Now he has to survive the games to get back to his wife and newborn. ISN'T THAT MUCH BETTER? Okay and lets say oh but they wanted Usagi to play a bigger role... then like you said she could've gotten into an accident herself and Arisu goes to save her. Like ugh Ryuji was such a poorly written character... Btw is he in love with his student? And why was Usagi so taken with him idgi...
Yeah lol I was like uh if you wanna die go die, why are you trying to bring her with you weirdo.
That was weird for me too, I thought he would remember his past, but when he came back to the real world he didn't know if Usagi was okay so I guess we can assume he didn't retain any memories, he only knew he went to the Borderlands to attempt to save her, hence why he rushed to the hospital. Also Ann had this weird half smile on her face after she left, kinda weird... anyone notice that?
The switch-up on Usagi's character and Ryuji was one of the worst parts for me forsure.
