This was so painful to watch, in a bad way. The writing was atrocious, the pacing was messy and just overall an excruciating watching experience. One of the worst ViuTV dramas I've watched.
2 episodes in and Linda Chung is absolutely killing it in her role. This is definitely her best performance in her entire career and it's so upsetting that she didn't get the Best Actress award for this.
The topics they discussed in the first two cases are so much bolder! In the past, rape or sexual assault can only be implied in their use of words but this time round, they directly talked about rape and even victim-shaming. They also raised issues about toxic masculinity, which is something I never expected mainstream media in Asian countries to be mentioned.
Surprisingly, I really like this drama! It's a romantic take on muay thai, and that's why it's more character-driven and slower-paced. I find the characters refreshing and especially love Hugo Wong and Brian Chu's characters. Jacky Cai's character was a little annoying but she grew on me.
Jeong PD (creator of GHSMC and The Great Escape) has left TVING. I don't know which company he has went to or whether he's starting his own channel now but I still have hope that once he's settled into his new workplace, he'll start GHSMC and The Great Escape soon.
Have a feeling that Guan Yu (the long-haired guy who keeps swirling whatever liquid is in his wine cup) has time-travelled before. He always say the correct facts about time-travel through the polariods with such conviction
Saw news that there's gonna be a Season 3 of GHSMC but the director and cast aren't confirmed yet.
However, it's best to watch the prequel first so that you can understand Yeesa and Ka-chung better.
this stupid Deng Lun fiasco has really messed everything up...
