Cute idea, lovely set and cinematography, but the dog was more interesting than the story.

I was confused too, it seemed out of place with no foundation laid out before-hand. Honestly, I was expecting some big show-down with the people up-river! not dealing with passing and loss~

I was confused at first and had to re-watch the end, I wish they had dropped a few more less-subtle hints about the actual condition of his health, I was so blindsided.
