Honestly, i didn't think the King had it in him to do that. I know it was LBY's request but, i didn't think the King was a sort of person that would go through with the "gift".
Ep 30 - it's official, my new favourite character is Yue Fei. Holy that memorial scene with the whole family is intense - all the different relationships and conflicts, you wouldn't be able to draw a diagram coz it's just so complicated. What a lesson for SS - she's taking everything in and learning first hand what LBY meant when he said he doesn't want her to get involved in imperial family politics.
But overall, I love that old b*tch getting told to move from the seat, so satisfying. I can't wait for what LBY does to the 3rd princess when he finds out she hurt SS. I hope the 3rd and 5th princesses to get what they deserve
Rewatching ep 21 again - it's interesting that LBY is there for the execution. He Zhao Jun's situation is comparable to his own, and he tells her to consider her future. I wonder what he's thinking when he kills the Ling clan and pays the price (loses SS and gets sent away) - did he consider his own future? I hope the storyline in part 2 justifies this decision.
Ep 24 - the way WL acts this out is phenomenal. @25 min mark, when he talks to SS's mum vs when he looks at SS - he shifts so quickly from his usual cold stare to the gentle loving look he gives SS.
ZLS also is brilliant, the sadness and disappointment in her eyes as her parents are talking is so heart breaking. I felt so incredibly bad for her.
SS greeting the king made me laugh out loud - she gets her cloths caught and says "Bi xia hao" BWAHAHAH. That whole scene with the King, her father, LBY and SS is just hilarious.
- The forest scene is just gorgeous cinematography wise, and you can see SS cares for LBY, but she stops just short of actually letting him know it - LBY and this really dark side, just the way Wu Lei acted it, his eyes are so emotive. You see all the plaques of everyone who passed, the weight of it all on his shoulders. - SS and her mother really giving it to those two wenches, she's finally seeing that her mother does care - I'm really impressed with the actress that plays HZJ, the beheading scene is both satisfying and scary, considering what a girl she used to be. - OFC that ending to ep 20 though, gives us just enough to sustain us until tomorrow! (also, she's so tiny standing next to him, bahahah)
