FL is a little annoying at first, but story progresses awesomely well! Worth to watch until the end! Ioved it! Main and secondary characters are great!
It's confusing in the beggining and I took 12 eps to get hooked. Really woth to watch it! Find it hard to find another historical drama so good as this one.
Do I need to watch "Eternal Love" before this? Are both of these interlinked in any way?

Eternal Love is the love story of Fenjiu's sister. We have Fengjiu and Donghua with their romance there, but its kind of retold with some differences and they are not the focus.
You can perfectly watch one without the other, but they are both so great that you'll want to watch both!
I was browsing through chinese top shows in mdl and found it in a good position. Started ep 1 just to check and got hooked! Binge watched and loved it! Perfect drama S2
I just watched Disney's Mulan (2020). How awfull! Disney distroyed the legend. But this movie from 2009 is in another level!! This is a better live action ever made.
Yang Ze, Gu Xi Ye and Ji Xiao are slow lol. All 3 have difficulties in expressing themselves. So a few misunderstandings happen.
But gradually they understand themselves and others, then they grow up.
Also the love between main leads happen very naturally. In life you usually don't fall in love at first sight or because someone is good in everything, but the day by day situations bring you together. He Xing Liang is good at school, is chearful and play pranks. He is more human, nice and not an intangible guy.
A very sweet school youth drama. Only watched japanese school dramas until now. This one is great!! Worth to watch it <3

The ending is confusing because of one specific scene:
Why does Li Ming'an drops those 3 cups of tea? It seems to be a mourning sign for CP, his mother and uncle... But after this scene, we see CP getting alive to Changzhou... O_õ
