I am not confused. She was disrespectful to their marriage. No one would ever watch this drama if the roles were reversed. If her husband kept going back and forth with another female. Her actions made no sense whatsoever.. she found out Su Rongqinghe killed her in the first life and still kept giving him heart eyes the whole time ... that's why fans named the show legend of Su Rongqing. She was mad at the hero for showing concern for his female friend but could not for the life of her stop having inappropriate meetings with Su Rongqing. Even when Su Rongqing confessed to her 20 days after she found out her husband was "dead" she did not even give a clear no, no clear reject she kept giving him hope with her confusing actions. She always acted like a completely love-struck teenager in front of Su Rongqing even after knowing the truth and that her husband liked her.... Her character was disrespectful to the hero's love

I feel like people in the comment were clowning people to watch this. They were like if I had to watch this you have to watch this and suffer too. Because for the life of me I don't understand why this is so popular and why the comments were so positive.
One: we have a almost childlike simple character who set’s of on an adventure with equally simple air head servant. Her parents knew that she is a literal idiot but still send her off with another idiot like character and this is the down fall of this drama. Even after facing tragedy the heroine remains a simple fool like character with almost zero growth. I wanted to really like this but nope it was a very very frustrating watch. My blood kept boiling the whole time. It’s not just the FL that was idiotic even the SML was a simple idiotic character too. So it felt like the hero was surrendered by a bunch of children in a grown up drama.
The issue I had with this drama was that everyone was written as a dumb character with practically zero brain cells. From the heroine never understating social customers, the second lead relationship with the princess, her parents, the servant girl, nobody in this drama on the female leads side had any intelligence. It made it a very painful watch.
I finished this drama because of Shen Yan Zhi, General Xia Hou Ying, Wen Rou, Huo Yang, and Lin Fang. They made it worth watching. The romance between the general and Wen Rou was beautiful, and I like Hou Yang straight forward character with his love interest. Lin Fang and Shen Yan Zhi should have been the main couple. They had better chemistry. But the author wanted the FL and ML to be together. It made no sense. This drama is 36 episode. Well second lead and Female lead breakups in episode 26... She is not even aware of this. In episode 28 she and the male lead her forced together with almost zero romantic like interaction. Now with just a few episode left these two have to convince us they love each other. Yea no.
In any drama where the female leads like another man first you have to break them up early for example : Scarlet Heart, The rebel princess, The Story of minglan, Boys over Flower, Legend of Fuyao, Eternal love, Love between Devil and Fairy to name a few. You have to give the audience time to mourn the loss and adjust to the new love. So yeah terribly done transition.
Another thing was frustrating way most of the deaths in this drama could have been avoided. But because 90 percent of the character was simple... It just did not work.
Quite a forgettable watch. Overall 3/10 because of side characters on the male leads side 7/10. I enjoyed their storyline.

I would after say this drama was amazing because of Xie Wei character. His ability to be level-headed and 10 steps ahead was fascinating. It was an amazing political drama. You can tell the author spent time writing his character. For a revenge drama his character was the same level almost on the same level as Mei Chang Su in Nirvana in Fire, a true strategic genious. Even his chemistry with Ning’er was well-written. He carried this drama on his back and what a fascinating watch it was. Love how dark and seductively he played his character. Even his madness was done in a way when you the audience entered it with him. A very captivating performance. I finished it for him.
Jiang Xue Ning aka Ning’er! Is a character that went back in time after killing herself, the author did Ning’er a disservice because she was a literal idiot. I almost hated her for level of utter stupidity. Time and time again she kept doing things that should have gotten her killed. You have the chance to go back and live differently and you choose be be insolent and arrogant with zero political power. She should have been killed of 2 minute into the show if not for Xei Wei. I wanted a more calculating female lead not a teenager. Another issue was a relationship with Zhang Zhe! Waste of screen time! They had zero chemistry, zero. He was not even the second lead but maybe the forth. The princes was the second lead, Yan Lin was third and maybe he could be forth. Their love line made no sense. Like Xie Wei said he knew all the different side of her an loved her. Her character was already inlove with Xie Wei early on but her memory of life one kept her chasing after Zhan Zhe. In the second life she barely head any real interaction with him for there to be love. And he himself just liked her because the author wrote it like that. Terrible performance from the actor he was so blend and dry he literally put me to sleep. Even the crown prince stood out more then him.
Princess Le Yang was the real second lead. Anyone who watched this drama knows that. Their chemistry was palpable but I guess they could not go there with the plot line. But beautifully portrayed by the Liu Xie Ning; mesmerizing and unforgettable.
Yan Lin character was another well written chacter and Jun Wei did a great job showing character growth. He was impulsive and almost had his family killed off for his impulsiveness. But by the end of the show you see a true transformation. I liked him.
One of my favorite character was Xue Shu. What a Steller performance! A true villainess! Dark and alluring. I really liked how intelligent she was. She shined very bright for such a evil character. You can't help but be impressed with her. Some of her scenes gave me goosboomse. This is the level of intensity I thought the heroine would come with but instead we got a juvenile version. Xue Shu was A true dark horse! ❤️🔥
Next best surprise was Fang Yin what a promising actress. Her acting was beautiful. Feminine, loving, and intelligent. A true empress. She was a heroine true and true. She would have been main character! She knew how to play cheese when everyone else was playing checkers. Her chemistry with the crown prince was so touching.
The most forgettable character was Zhang Zhe! My goodness, what a snooze fest! He was boring to the core. No expression, and zero chemistry with the female lead. It’s like he did not know why he was there. Don't understand why so many women where in love with him. Who would want this passive man as their own? I will always pick Xie Wei cause he would do anything to protect does he loves. Or Princess She Zhi Yi, or even Yan Lin over him. I know the other characters were more interesting but still just no. Like when he was trying to judge Xie Wei’s actions! He was self-righteous and condescending. Even Ning’er had to put him in his place. That was one of my favorite scenes. A very forgettable character!
All in all amazing watching. The romance started at episode 32 for 38 episode drama because of the heroine internal conflict. She can't rationalize her attraction for Xei Wei because he is truly a morally grey character and in the past I believe her character also liked him too. She fought it, as she should but in the end it was 100 percent clear that she loved him. Pretty early one everyone else can see but herself. She knew him and loved him anyways! He knew her and all the imperfection and loved her anyway. Truly a well written love story.
For those who had issues with kiss scene, he kissed her because she liked him. She accepted it but resisted because she could not reconcile that fact that she was in love with this “evil madman of a person.” remember she kept going on and on about how Zhang Zhe was righteous and a good person because she was basically trying to hypnotize her self into believing she liked Zhe because that made sense. Loving a completely dark antihero made no sense. That the actual struggle!
All in all if you enjoyed Nirvana in Fire then you will also enjoy this. The drama is more focused on a political genius manipulating everything behind the scenes and Xie Wei did an exceptional job bringing this character to life.
