Title Eat Run Love
To be honest, since the beginning of the drama there was no special chemistry between the two and after episode…
100% agreed! there was never any chemistry between them all the cute scenes felt like js scenes to me! the only thing keeping me going is the business aspect.. thats the only interesting part of the storyline

i 100% agree!! she is very money paranoid and at first it was understandable but then when she asked to pay gas…
again where did i say she should stay home, cook, clean, have kids and take care of them?? its an innate feature of a man to earn, provide and protect for the person he loves, esp his girl... and he did that he got her the apartment! my point is she has EVERY RIGHT and SHE SHOULD go and earn for HERSELF.. it however should not be her JOB or RESPONSIBILITY to pay half the rent or pay the rent of a place if she is in relationship, THATS THE MAN'S JOB! she should not be bringing up ill pay half the rent or i cant afford, cuz that wil hurt the man's pride, and we know his intentions were pure and out of love.

i 100% agree!! she is very money paranoid and at first it was understandable but then when she asked to pay gas prices... like wth do u mean? there is nothing wrong with being financially independent & earn a lot of money for yourself esp w her background but its so extreme.. when her BOYFRIEND surprised her w the apartment she liked she instantly rejected it and said "its too expensive" or "i cant afford it" like ?? if it wasn't her bf then it was valid but it is and he is man.. men love to go out earn and spend on there loved ones and he did just that it idk why she got so pissed. she does not deserve him.

You and I obviously watched different dramas when it comes to Hidden Love and The First Frost. For me, The First…
i agree with the part where it ended up about being WY when i walked it into it seeing it be about SY but oh well, but that's why i still stand with this POV that HL and FF should not be compared in anyway... its about a completely diff POV even though the characters like SZ and DJ are in it, doesnt change the fact -- their also completely diff in it for obv reasons!
i respect ur POV.

Okay, here I will explain again to my commentators, the honorable Phantaminum & disneyboot9.First of all, would…
i appreciate your response (i saw this late) and i have written my review
i shouldn't have commented on ur review since i haven't read the novel so i won't say anything further but my POV still stands.. HL was not my fav at all i didn't understand the hype for, it was slightly above average while FF hype made more sense and i agree 95% to its hype.. the trope just fits me better and thats my personal preference!! ofc theres letdowns in every show and FF did have it.

and i 100% agree!!
but my only problem was his trauma didn't get as much attention as WY did.. and healing time from that before and during that relationship, it was completly overlooked to show romantic scenes which was dissapointing!

My main issue with their relationship was how rushed it was considering she hasn't fully gotten over her ex, I…
thats valid and i agree with that too!! considering how it was 28 eps they could have easily showed that.

i agree with most of this!
but wouldn't her falling in love with him because he told her to love herself and that she was worth loving? i thought he set the scene pretty well for her to finally fall for him

Você acha que drama é só sobre amor e histórias sem problemas. Você está se enganando ao criticar o drama…
perfectly said!

i see where thats coming from, but i dont think the writter or director wanted to show him in a stalker light at all 😭

also for the intern, the only major thing was how she strictly kept her boundaries with him compared to SY -- it was kept professional while for SY in high school, she didnt really stop him ykwim. cuz if she did he would def stop but there was never a no or boundary set by her so he did what he was doing!

I honestly do not understand why so many Chinese modern shows are around 30 episodes long, when more often than…
right this is why i didn't rly start c-dramas until i watched WIFTY i think the lenght and how they told the story in that lenght was perfect!! it made me start c-dramas which i dont regret bu 32 is wayyy too much :< im still not done i just reached 28

yes i was so glad she cut them off, they didn't deserve her!
Scarat Mar 10, 2025
thank you for this!! i saw so many ppl drop bfr reaching 10 eps which i understand but this drama clarified the reasons as to why things perfectly at then end!! the in between eps was def where i felt the pacing was getting to me but im glad it got so much better -- this drama couldve easily been a 10/10 if the pacing was solved by shortening the eps to 24/25 like how HL an WIFTY were; those werent too long nor too short!
Kate Mar 10, 2025
i totally agree with this, it couldve easily been shown a lot better in just 24/25 eps like hidden love and wifty!! i took some breaks too but i loved the message, story and acting was perfect!

i'm also referring to the personality of SY! it has to be different and im glad they changed it.. in that he was just seen as an older brother, but we didnt rrly know anything about him at all -- now we do and he's such a complex character!

i respect ur opinion too just thought i'd h=give a different prespective :>
Swetsmarz Mar 10, 2025
people who walked into this drama thinking that the Sang Yan they saw in HL was gonna be the exact same as the Sang Yan they will protray here is crazy too me when all the POV in First Frost change entirely from Sang Zhi, how she views Duan Juaxu her brother he parents, too focusing on SY himself... how can you expect SY to be the same as he was coming from his sisters POV in HL is my qs?? or him trying to pursue his first love?? no ones gonna be like that when it comes to their personal romantic relationship -- ur obv gonna be a completely different person, and sometimes that was the person always who you were!!

"The feeling I have watching this is not a spin off but I am trying to program myself to watch a totally different character and story." you literally answered it yourself it is lol.

"the write should try to interconnect this script with the original even if using different actors." i agree with this!! that would have made it so much more intersting but ig there main focus was always on the main couple and Wen Yifan.
Kuiksuko Mar 7, 2025
if were comparing this to hidden love, then this by far takes it! hidden love had major flaws that not a lot of people saw because they just loved the actors and chemistry.
Duan Jaixu character in a sense is flawed and well under appreciated because similar to wen yifan (not the same) he went through trauma's with his familes and other stuff that happened was completely overlooked and barely talked about? my main problem is people who don't fix there internal problems - trauma is big one - u need to be able to overcome that properly in order to have a healthy relationship with someone, but i didn't see that being adressed as much as it should have! while with Wen Yi Fan, its taking time for it too heal and they are showing it maybe at a slower pace but its still there

a very obv problem is when Duan Jiaxu fell for her? it makes no sense, hes made it very clear for like 15+ eps that he see's her as a younger sister, nothing more i saw no moment where he's like oh ok that's when he fell in love with her, it just sorta happened he became the flirty guy and started pursuing her!

another problem is that couple has no depth... i dont remember them having one deep conversation, one relating to his trauma and how he's doing and two just in general, talks you have with your partner to know more about them, but they just went straight into living together and having intimate kissing scenes -- which is fine, but again no character depth or relationship depth which puts it so behind from first frost
while first frost has it's flaws, the relationship is showing depth and struggles they had to overcome to reach where they are now, how Sang Yan unconditionally still loves her even though it's been 8 years and how it took time for Wen Yi Fan to realize that after all these years, she can't find and safer and better person then him and decied to pursue him-- that was all shown pretty well (pacing was def a problem but it showed the moral they were trying to show!) so far ive watched till 21, and i loved ep 20 because of how she finally opens up about her past trauma's and appreciates that he will always be there for her -- the conversation i wanted most and they showed it at the start of the
relationship as it progreeses is perfect! i hope it stays that way.

to adress why it looked so gloomy was simply because of Wen Yi Fan, her trauma and her struggles -- this was supposed to be the type of drama where ML comes, see's the FL is in a very dark and gloomy environment and = take her out of it show her that she deserves the best which will automatically change the eps from gloomy blue, too bright light!

the acting and chemistry is personal thing so i wont comment on that, for me who hasn't read teh novel, Sang Yan type of character seems perfectly casted and acted too me!! if there ever was problem its prob Wen Yi Fan acting at times but overall i personally see nothing wrong with acting.. the chemistry is supposed to bright first love, where they both met each other everyday, showed affection and care -- obv Sang Yan is more -- but now it's slow burn.. u cant rrly compare oh their first loves in high school why is it like this when now ? she left and cut contanct with him for 8 yrs??? they never met or spoke for that long of a time, even though they were with each otehr every day it was not supposed to sunshine and rainbows because there grown adults who grew up, and with different circumstances. Sang Yan still loving her even after she did that 8 yrs ago is mind blowing too me, that's chemistry itself!

Yes, that's very true, I think 8.9 is very high. The fans are not objective and are exaggerating.
i dont think it's a matter of objective, the rating is respectable for the story and acting and the overall first love vibe, but tbh its the pacing!

personally i havent read the novel or the webtoon manhwa but the story is pretty sollid.. its executing the first love trope perfectly and slow burn but it might be a bit too slow for ppl cuz of the pacing -- i want the progression at a better rate!

i wouldnt neceassarily say that the dialouges are bad most of them are pretty meaningful and vibes are working for each scene although ur right the music isnt approapriate at all!! the OST is rrly good but they cant finf the right scene to put it behind!

hopefully the pacing improves and story progresses more on her at least speaking about her past problems with him to have a much more deeper and meaningful relationship!!

i disagree with this because i think a remake was needed!

personally the romance aspect of Go ahead was super flawed for the main leads because what even happend ? it was like a sudden switch from siblings/close friends too "lovers" and i didnt like it all...
it couldve been better executed if the the ML liked her/developed some sort of different feelings for the FL during there time in high skl and they showed that instead of making it so abrupt, which they executed in FBC!! sure they def missed out the happy family moments of tehre childhood and when they were in skl but they at least showed the progreession of the main couple a lot better then go ahead.

the second brothers love life with the other charcters was insanely messy there was no need for all of that! i liked how he didn't end up with anyone and just focused on his self and relationships that were dear to him like his mom, dad and siblings.
even though that's a solid ending for him and his character, FBC showing him in a relationship at the end wasn't bad at all - i was here for them way more!

the FL bsf was also a badly written character imo, park dal was 100% better written maybe with a bit less emotion but that was much needed!

overall i agree and respect your opinion that FBC had flaws in the family and emotions departments, but it fixed and answered the flaws in the Go Ahead department as wel! it way more then Go Ahead!
