The couple is cute and all but this drama honestly made me cringe, I totally didn’t like the fact that we couldn’t…
I really, REALLY wanted more of JapanTanthai and even the whole DewxBluexChamp thing. JT was so cute and sweet, and I just needed more time with them. DBC was just underdeveloped because I was kind of confused when Blue went from “hating” Dew to being all googoo eyed for him. Don’t get me wrong- this isn’t a criticism, because I understand the entire virus/filming situation. But I hope there will be a few special episodes or even more to soothe my soul! Fingers crossed, lol
I am sure it is real Kim he and Way I believe will get their ownhappy ending. The next thing is not Khet Pan but…
That’s true, too. I hope they can work out their problems because I don’t think Khet meant to make so many mistakes with Kim in the past. He was so young, after all. But I am really excited for the real Kim. His personality seems very curt!
Although I’m mostly with others who dislike the body/soul gender swap thing, I like this show because it isn’t overly serious, but it does touch on some serious emotional stuff. I was really feeling it when Way was telling Kim how he would take any relationship with him over not being friends at all, how he could wait for him forever, etc. It was really beautiful because I think it made their connection much more intense! But if the preview for next week isn’t actually the real Kim being back, I will go insane! I NEED to know how he truly feels about Way also.
Khet/Pan, for me, feels more genuine coming from Khet than Pan, maybe because she’s so caught up in Way/Kim’s situation. But I hope they will get their happy ending, too, because Khet is such a sweetheart.
Anticipation for next week’s episode is through the roof!
It’s not a SUPER long, drawn out comment, but I really loved this drama. I intentionally waited for it to finish…
Also, that song by Getsunova during the closing credits- OMG! Let’s just say 1) they have a new fan, and 2) I’ve probably listened to that song honestly at least 50 times since I started the series, lol!
It’s not a SUPER long, drawn out comment, but I really loved this drama. I intentionally waited for it to finish airing before I started watching because I didn’t think I’d have the patience to wait every week for it like I do my other shows. I did not see the original Korean work, but I was really drawn in to the drama and emotion. If it wasn’t so long (run-time wise), I would definitely rewatch this in the future.
One thing I will say is that a good bit of the acting was very good. Sing's performances are always on point for me, but I have to say that Kay impressed me the most. My heart wrenched with Gun during the sad times, and I laughed along with his antics. And I will give Krist credit here, because I’ve never been a huge fan of his acting, but I feel this is definitely his most convincing effort (although, as an actor, I was nervous at first because I do feel he is a little too old to play a high school student).
Don’t pass up the opportunity to watch this drama. It is worth the time spent.
I felt compelled to comment after watching the most recent episode. I can’t say that I’ve felt a ton of emotional connection to this series other than understanding how it feels to try and reconcile your core religious beliefs with your sexuality/who you are as a person. However, EP. 6 was very touching. Not only did it delve into some family issues/history with Christian and his dad, this episode covered some really important life lessons on forgiveness, acceptance, and perseverance. I feel like Christian’s time with Goddess is the crucial turning point in his development as a person. He knows he loves Zach. If he didn’t, he wouldn’t have been able to walk away from his calling as an acolyte. But he also had to learn that loving someone else doesn’t mean you should stop loving yourself, and that’s where his pain spiral was leading him.
On a side note, I got a good laugh out of the gossiping from everyone in town. Of course it’s not something appropriate to do, but it helps incorporate the side characters but also shows the reality of people. They do it- even about people they truly love.
Hope to see a continuing upwards trend in the show’s storyline, acting, and production.
I would give this a whole 10000000000 points. I loved this soooooo much that I literally have rewatched this so…
You sound like me. I honestly have no idea how many times I’ve watched this series. I fell in love with the characters, their lives, and everything in between. I would love to see the actors in other good roles.
I’m so impressed with this series. They are able to convey so much emotional development in such a short timeframe. The anticipation for the rest of the episodes is through the roof!
Can we just take a moment and commend how well he raps the introduction of every Girl Next Room series.
I love his rapping, also! He is multitalented, it would seem. Ever since I watched him as Gord in “My Tee”, I’ve thought he was so adorable. I’m glad he has a good range and can pull off a comedic side as well. Hope to see more of him in the future ::crossing fingers::
I just finished this series and I love it. Should I watch the next chapter because I'm hesitating since it has…
Watch it if you’re invested in KornKnock’s relationship development. It’s not as good as TWM, but it’s not as bad as people say. Some people are too critical.
Is this serie worth it? Cause I already saw Bad Romance and I really didn't like that serie... so what about this…
It’s definitely worth it. The chemistry between the actors is much better here, and the production values and storylines are better, too. Give it a chance. The Next Chapter is pretty good, better than Bad Romance but not as good as this one. Still worth watching, though, if you’re interested in KornKnock’s development.
Well... if my inkling is correct, maybe Kim and Way will turn out to be stepbrothers... that would make the tension…
I get what you’re saying, but the tension felt like it was coming from both of them. Pan knows Khet, so I felt that tension on Pan’s part (in Kim’s body) is because of their already-strange relationship. But I can’t figure out the if the tension coming from Khet is because “Kim” is now acting so strangely and not because of some existing weirdness between them. Something odd is there- I just can’t put my finger on it. I could be totally wrong, though lol. We shall see!
Well..., I’ve decided I am going to continue on with this show for a couple reasons. First, I love Ohm Pawat. I haven’t been disappointed in any of his roles yet. Second, the premise of the show is interesting. Now, I’m not going to say I disagree with others who believe that the body swap/gender bending can be irritating or disingenuous or whatever, but after not being utterly disappointed with “HIStory: My Hero” or “Great Men Academy”, I feel obliged to give this at least an honest chance.
The nice thing is that this first episode was quite entertaining (especially at how over-the-top the two fujoshis are), and it is actually far less confusing than the trailer came across to me. And yes, there is a lot of cringe, but many fujoshis are THAT cringey!
After watching some quite heavy, albeit enjoyable BLs these last few months (Until We Meet Again, TharnType, 2gether, and even WHY R U?), I’m actually a bit relieved to have some mindless entertainment until hopefully some non-school related BLs come out.
Hope everyone who decides to stick it out has a good viewing experience :)
