Now I'll have to re-watch episodes 35 and 36 again because I had lost interest in the primary couple's storyline when they started treating the ML's hallucinations, so I didn't give the drama my 100% attention.
I pushed through the final episode today (11.12.24). Nine days after all episodes were out.
I had been faithfully keeping up with the drama up to episodes 32. This drama lost steam once the second couple got together.
The storyline for the lead couple became less appealing and uninteresting to me when the focus turned on the lead couple's handling of the ML's hallucinations and treatment for these hallucinations. At this point, I didn't really care about this drama anymore and I wasn't in any rush to complete it.
I did want to complete this drama since I had watched 31 of the 36 episodes, but my priority was going to go to other Korean and Chinese dramas before A Beautiful Lie.
The only reason I would recommend this drama is for the second couple. I liked the second couple. I look forward to their future work.
The song played the majority of the time was fantastic and is worth listening too.
New Crown Princess, Lou Mei, needs to wake up and pick the right side. Otherwise, the former General can say goodbye to the Yin family. I hope Lou Mei doesn't wind up crashing and burning because of the Crown Prince.

The Emperor has no intentions of sleeping with the young princess. He has given the order that upon his death, the young princess is to be sent back to her homeland. The Emperor only has the best intentions for the young princess.
I think the payoff for the Emperor's good intention will appear in episode 22.
The re-appearance of the mother into the story was a big surprise to me. I thought I had an idea of the direction Doubt was taking, but then Mom re-appears and has a bigger part of the story than I thought Mom was going to get.
All actors are doing a superb job especially CWB. CWB gives a whole new meaning to cold blooded.

If the SML: SRQ didn't know the identity of the person loved by the Princess, it was at this time that it was made very clear.
PWX is willing to be the shield of his Love, the Princess and if that means dying for her, then so be it. Something SRQ is not willing to do.
