I need to unpack in therapy why I keep watching this nonsensical lakorn....
literally I am ... ???? full of ?? question marks . the romance is packed into the last few eps, and yes I know that because I somehow watched to the end.....but im just left confused. kinda want my time back..
His martial arts are legions better than her, he’s infinitely smarter than her...which isn’t saying much considering how foolhardy, impulsive, and unaware she is ....on episode 5 right now and legit don’t understand what purpose she has. If her aunt is trying to hide her identity and past, why put her in this role of Sword Holder? The most useless sword holder too... someone please tell me, does the FL experience good character development 😭😭😭
If anyone has any recs that incorporate the best parts of this drama (super intelligent FL who doesn't let us down to the end, a slice of life style of plot, a couple you really root. for) please hit me up!!! I've watched all the really popular ones like Ming Lan. LOVED Sword and Brocade too.
I literally CANNOT fathom how this drama has a 7.9. This drama is INCREDIBLE. The acting from not only the leads,…
The only thing that was kinda.....was like, Shao Chun def should have let Yun Luo know the plan at the end. The end in general was super rushed.....but all of my complaints I can toss out the window because of how much I adored this drama otherwise.
I literally CANNOT fathom how this drama has a 7.9. This drama is INCREDIBLE. The acting from not only the leads, but the entire cast. The dialogue, the sets, the plot, I was hooked and never wavered. I absolutely LOVE having a FL like Shao Chun, esp paired with a ML as devoted as Yun Luo. I have so many thoughts and emotions swirling around my head after finishing, and I know I can't write it all out.
I was trying to think about what could make the ratin so low. Literally the only thing I could think of is....we needed more episodes. A lot of things were edited, cut short, rushed, and we didn't get to see some things as fleshed out as I would have liked, like the relationships between the other couples esp 2nd brother's storyline. I think that's more a problem for the current state and restrictions on Chinese TV though.
This is VERY slice of life , and if you are only interested in the main couple and oodles of super obvious romance, then yeah it might not be for you. This drama shows the lives of the whole house, and shows how FL and ML navigate life as a married couple. They approach every situation together and with one mind, with no stupid misunderstandings or plot lines that are more exhausting than they are fun. I have never seen a drama like this where I barely skipped anything, like I am a MASTER skipper, but I watched basically all of the plot lines in its entirety. No stupid political plot that doesn't matter at all to me, nothing was dragged out unnecessarily. God. SUCH a good drama.
The characters were PERFECT. Goddddd. I could go on about Shao Chun and Yun Luo for ages, but even the other characters!!!!! Like.....a girl who initially had a crush on ML but was true to her morals the entire time? Unprecedented. I freaking love Di Zhu so much. Also, I've never seen a Chinese drama be so lenient with beauty standards, like a woman who might not be considered conventionally attractive actually did find love, I've never seen a C-drama do that. I loveddddd the household so much, no typical house drama, they were actually ultimately a family. And to see how Shao Chun entered it and truly became a part of it....lord help me.
Again, my only complaints were that I wanted more: more episodes, more pacing, more fleshed out details. Would've loved to see First Bro suffer/grovel more. Would've loved to see 2nd bro and his wife's actual lives together as a married couple (also I headcannoned a few things about them). Would've loved to see more detail to the character development of 3rd bro. If the director ever released like an extended cut, I would be so happy.
Do you know where I can read this in English translation? Thank you :)
I did finish it! It wasn’t complete when I started and I was absolutely obsessed. Didnt love the ML but I loved the FL so much she made up for it. I do remember being a little let down in the later chapters,,,hopefully a lot is changed in the drama LOL Have fun!!! Lots of great reads on that site 👀
yessss he is lol. he ruined everyone's life. but actually he's also good in other things. just continue it
YEAH I finished it, mostly by skipping most of his scenes in the beginning. In the end, he did convince me, so it's fine. Good drama :) (if ur able to forgive a lot of things)
Love Yan Zhi tho

This is easily one of my fav C-dramas.
