SPOILER ALERT
There are so many popular shows and ones that are given high ratings that suck. I'm blown away by how subjective the standards for judging a drama are. Particularly on Viki, the rating system is so arbitrary it's irrelevant.
I agree about Master's Sun. It started off alright but then the story lost direction and oomph. I've tried to re-watch the drama to see why it's supposedly really good, and I still don't think it is.
Reply and Stars were refreshingly funny especially in the sound effects. I felt nostalgic watching Reply because I can totally remember those days when I was a preteen and boy bands, posters, and learning dance moves were the center of my existence.
You was particularly funny and the writers really took a chance on the humor around the couple's awkwardness at relationships and it totally paid off. There were two moments in the drama that stuck with me. The first relates to the antagonist turning his nail ring. I have to say that it creeped me out. The second was the car at the cliff scene where the director pulled a superman stunt. That was so unexpected and had perfect timing.
I can't even begin to say how brilliantly the writers sketched out the OTP. The two were seemingly perfect on the outside, but were so flawed. The romance moved the story along and was very boy meets girl, but I didn't feel that the romance made the drama and the plot was pretty multidimensional. It really was the personal conflicts of the characters and their shortcomings that made this drama great. I felt that the choices that each of the characters made were legit and believable and even though it was a fantasy, the story hit home.

1 of the worst dramas i've ever came across, its just utter garbage, i also wonder if koreans are really that…
it's not my view of the world. i don't think it's right at all. i live in canada as well. i just know that in countries that have long standing traditions, often male-centric, divorced women are seen as outcasts, and that's most countries in my opinion. even in north america, it was not so long ago that this was a truth. as equality of men and women take greater precedence in families and institutions, we'll see less of this kind of prejudice.

i personally think adultery is not that bad thing in essencel. i'm sure it's painful to be on the receiving end of the situation, but then again, human beings do far more hurtful things even as a husband or wife. yeah for sawa and the bio teacher. it's ridiculous for an individual to condemn/scorn another person based on morals since he without sin should cast the first stone. is say good on you if you decide to act against society's mores. just be prepared to deal with the consequences.

So life is like this... The ending tastes like rupture, departure. It made me think about my past relationship,…
well said. i also believe that true love, white love, pure love -whatever it's called- needs to win no matter the circumstance. i think at heart that is what everyone wants.

most societies see divorced women as outcast. it's a shame, but true.

the way they approached this drama was pretty dumb. at first, i was happy to watch this since it was in the spirit of romantic comedies from the early 2000's, but i ended up fast forwarding to the end after 6 episodes, it was so ridiculous. i felt like i was watching the town circus - everything fake and over the top. they totally recycled the same characters, same story, etc, but at their worst. i shake my head in disgust.

I've said all these comments... I know I should be ashamed of myself but I can't help it, I prefer Korean drama…
based on a korean documentary that i saw a year ago or so, most korean have plastic surgery by the time they graduate high school. this is especially true if they are actors and musicians. this is a truth about korean male actors and pop artists. korean males wear as much make-up as korean women. i

I really don't like this article. It shows a definite favouritism for Kdramas and really just complaining. How about writing something a little more enlightening. I ended up studying Korean because I loved the sound of the language. Despite this, I can often go for a long time not watching Kdramas because they are often really cliched and don't carry a good storyline. And really, if there was a K version of an American drama out, it would definitely be that the Kdrama would be compared to the American version, because it would be more accessible in the global domain than the Kversion just as the Kversion would be more in the global domain than those from other Asian countries. Here's my two-cents about which is better though. No country can produce a good drama as well as the Japanese can. Period. Japan produces it's own unique style of television and cinema with more substance than I've seen from other countries.

i have to say that shin se kyung ruined fashion king (so did the male antagonist) and when a man loves for me. i'm also getting tired of dong wook. i will forever love scent of a woman, but he really plays the same troubled character in all of his dramas even the comedies. i really haven't seen much improvement over the past decade.

this a bit of a tangent, but the actor who plays p'jae in the thai drama madam dun could give these korean actors a run for their money. not only was he believable in the role as a gay entertainment manager, he was hilarious to boot. i had pain at my ribs from laughing too much. he's played the male love interest in other dramas as both the protagonist and antagonist and is just as believable.

I love LDW, but he seriously needs a break. He's not a newbie that needs the attention, so why couldn't they just…
good point about the show being rushed.

i usually pass over articles like this, but i read it because i realize how much pressure we put on idols to live…
of course i don't think that it's right to harm another person. i'm not trying to belittle the girl's circumstance either. i also have experienced domestic violence, and had to seek justice for myself. i just think that is a good lesson for us if we stop pointing fingers and feeling disappointed only. it is not only the "victim" that ends up a victim of the abuse. in the end, i just really hope that if he did this, that he is remorseful and is able to ask for the help he needs.
also, when it's put out there, we don't need to do anything that undermines either party. of course, not everyone is doing this.

what in the world does it have to do with the fans in the first place? i honestly think this is selfishness on their part and boosting their own ego. you know, i think the whole idea of idol love and worship is sick in the first place. the market is really messed up. isn't it the industry that sets it up so that these artists have to lie and the fans that sustain it? why can't we accept them for who they really are? the issue is greater than KHJ's incident. when artists commit suicide because of this industry, we pity them, and quickly try to find the anti fans that caused the problems, and when artists do drugs, abuse others, or commit felony, we drive a stake right through them.

I actually really wanted to see Ji Sung act in this drama. xD Probably just me. Haha.
i agree with you about Ji Sung. I think I had a dream about him jumping onto the office chair in PTB a couple of days ago.
