Well... I decided to come back to this drama as it closes and I still question myself... why?
The writing and the changing plot for this 103 episode drama is just terrible and a mess. We go from finding the missing husband, recovering memory loss, finding lost child, finding the missing grandson, stop from Aura from being taken over, memory loss again, finding Soo Ho's dad, and stop from Aura being taken over again.
Not to mention, the randomness of the villains dropping off and on. We started with Esther as a main villain, then added Nam Joon, then added Ae Ra, dropped Esther and turned her to the good side randomly, added Ha Young to mix (ep 84), and then dropped all the villains just to have 1 powerful villain, Ha Young's adoptive dad (who doesn't appeared until ep 97) WTF?
At least Soo Ho's character was written correctly, probably the only one in this drama.
What they should've done is have Ha Young's adoptive dad as the main villain and not bother to have Ae Ra or Nam Joon continue being evil for this long. These 2 characters should've changed to the good side a long time ago, maybe after being caught trying to obtain Aura at the shareholder meeting, Ae Ra goes to jail and loses her greedy self and just want to take care of her son Nam Joon. Nam Joon still wants power but Ae Ra tries to stop his evil deeds instead of collaborating with him. This would've made the plot a lot better.
But instead, we get the typical, past villains realize what they did was wrong at the very end and the writers want the viewers to pity the villains who are now a weak-minded character and never receive any kind of punishment.
Lmao i thought Veronica Park is a bitch but shes actually really nice and funny
First impression, I wasn't a fan of hers especially the way she talked but she grew on me. Her attitude and the way she reacts to stuff is hilarious to me and the fact that she's so determine to get Dae Joo to like her is funny.
I don't know about you all but ep 16, the final episode, felt very rushed. A lot of things that happened should've happened a lot earlier.
Oh Jin Pyo pretty much doesn't get punished until past halfway of this episode which sucked since it just seemed like he was overpowered as a villain. How can he get away with so many things because of "lack of evidence" when there clearly are evidences against him? I wanted to see more of his punishment but we only got to see like 5 mins of his jail time which is lame because there were too many scenes of his evil deeds. He still acts like he'll get away with it and never changed.
Da Hee confessing the truth that Joon Seok's dad sexually assaulted her should've happened earlier like ep 13. The scenes that happened in the first part of ep 16 would've been shown in ep 13 or 14. That way, I felt like there would've been more of a Sun Ho encounterment with the other characters like, Da Hee meeting with Sun Ho, the bullies like Sung Jae & Young Chul... we didn't even see an apology scene from them. It's almost like they weren't apologetic at all but we'll never know because these scenes weren't shown or filmed. At least we saw character development in Ki Chan in some scenes where he understood what he did was wrong and hurtful and he was truly sorry.
The school staff scenes itself felt rushed too. The vice principal getting fired was sweet for me but it was too short since after seeing all of his hateful and snarky remarks about Sun Ho's family. I wanted to see scenes of an improvement to the school and staff. I mean we kinda saw it when the students start to care about Sun Ho after Soo Ho & Dong Hee's conversation but I would've liked to seem more of the changes. I also would've liked if they made teacher Jin-Woo as vice principal and Myung Sun as principal.
Sun Ho's awakening took too long. If he would've woken up by say ep 12, I think this drama would've flowed a lot smoother and the plot wouldn't felt rushed. Plus, this drama started with Sun Ho and end with Sun Ho. Shouldn't the writers have a couple of episodes of his recovery effort and say lines? That would've been nice. I was also hoping for more of an emotional encountering of Joon Seok when he met Sun Ho again but their meeting was just okay, somewhat bland to me.
The reporter guy sort of lost his role in this last episode too. I thought he was going to make some huge changes to the plot but he only stirred up the anger in Oh Jin Pyo just a little bit. Would've been nice to see him publishing an article about what happen to Oh Jin Pyo but again, this wasn't filmed or shown.
I can't forget Dong Hee & Dong Soo. They're pretty much part of Sun Ho's family now. I almost felt like there should've been a scene where Sun Ho & Soo Ho's parents adopted them since there were so many scenes of them together.
And I guess some side characters never change aka the parents of Ki Chan and Sung Jae.
Those costume outfits on Young Goo are so funny but at least he got some normal clothes now.
And what? That company wants to sent Young Goo to that Diana chick... who destroyed their first robot. She's a crazy psycho! Young Goo's in deep trouble if that happens. Can somebody just send that psycho girl to jail instead for uh... abusing her workers? Well at least she doesn't get much screen time for now because I can't stand her already.
Random but Ep 14 at 13:38, I didn't know there was a feature like that for cars. Definitely good for tight situation if you catch my drift. lol. Product placement. XD
The first 2 episodes were fairly weak for me. The plot is just all over the place leaving me confused but not wanting more though. It doesn't grab my attention as much. While I like the actor & actresses as leads, their characters aren't likable. I decided to give one more shot to see if it gets better because there are some dramas that have a weak premiere but a progressing plot by the second week. This drama doesn't do that. I watched ep 3 but was bored by it and skipped through a lot of the episode so I think it's time to drop this drama overall.
Okay... now I'm understanding the plot now. Eps 5 & 6 cleared up the confusion. Min Ik can only see Gal Hee if she's in her red cardigan and I guess wearing her glasses. If she doesn't wear that, then he can't recognize her, hence she becomes Veronica Park because the actual weirdo followed the wrong instructions and went to the wrong hotel. Because she used to work as a secretary for Veronica Park, she can imitate her easily.
I can see how this will play out. Min Ik will eventually get his vision restored, find out the betrayal of his best friend, gets hurt that Gal Hee deceived him so he will probably fired her and then he'll most likely remember the great memories with her when she imitated Veronica Park and realizes that he really loves Gal Hee and not Veronica Park.
Speaking of Veronica Park, her voice.... her "awesome". They're just..... EW! I cringe! XD
Agreed. I grew to like this guy so they can't just killed him off. At first hand when watching it, I didn't expect a big role from him but throughout the drama, he's actually a pretty cool guy, I would say the comedian in this whole drama.
oof If the sypnosis from Viki is true Imma drop this drama because i dont like dramas with that sort of plots…
I say give it another week before you drop it to see if the synopsis verifies or not because the Viki synopsis was already wrong about Min Ik murdering someone. He didn't murder someone. He was almost murdered by someone. and Gal Hee witnessed it.
You should read the synopsis on Viki/Kocowa, will make you even more confused how its going to play out or if…
lol. I have to question Viki's synopsis now because they're already wrong about Min Ik murdering someone. He wasn't murdering someone, he was almost murdered by someone. Huge difference! Also Min Ik only sees Gal Hee's face so how can he mistake her as Veronica Park if he only sees her face. I'm starting to believe that this synopsis is not fully accurate.
ok so i watched ep 2 and in the preview we can see he goes on a blind date with Veronica Park and the description…
Forreals! I'm starting to question if this synopsis is even correct because it's not making any sense to me from these first 4 episodes lol. Next week for sure will clear this confusion up.
And what's up with Veronica's voice? It sounds like she's trying too hard to speak.
I have a couple of things to say about this: 1. The drama description above is very confusing, mostly the second sentence. I read that and thought Jin Ki Joo was playing two roles, Gal Hee & Veronica Park. But as I looked at the cast, Veronica Park is played by a different actress which threw me off. So I didn't understand the description and had to search for one that made sense. I understood it after seeing the synopsis from Viki: "On the day she gets fired out of the blue, Min Ik who suffers from face blindness mistakes Gal Hee for Veronica Park, a charming and influential figure in the filming industry, and falls in love with her. Gal Hee starts to pretend to be Veronica, and as time passes, even she herself gets confused who she really is."
2. It's been awhile since I've seen Kim Young Kwang in a comedy role and I'm really excited for this because I've seen so many of his roles as a serious character because of the dark story and I'm already enjoying the first 2 episodes of this.
3. I love Jin Ki Joo. She was so great in "Come & Hug Me". I feel like this could be one of those dramas where she gets a makeover and the male lead falls for her even more.
Honestly after seeing ep 10, my theory is that Da Hee is the root of all of the problems in this drama. Here's what I think:
Da Hee liked Joon Seok but Joon Seok didn't like her back. Because Joon Seok messed around with her only to break her heart in the end or she was so obsessed with him and was jealous that Joon Seok spent a lot of time with Sun Ho, Da Hee told a lie that Joon Seok assaulted her to Sun Ho. Because she knew Sun Ho liked her, he would be on her side instantly, and thus breaking the bro-ship of Sun Ho and Joon Seok. I don't think Joon Seok assaulted Da Hee. I think he was being truthful as shown in the flashback of Sun Ho's & Joon Seok's rooftop meeting. But Sun Ho was blinded of the truth because of his anger since, being assaulted is a serious crime and something to get angry about. Da Hee must also didn't like having Sun Ho around her or liking her because her heart is only for Joon Seok so she told her mom that lie that Sun Ho was the assailant with Joon Seok, to keep him away once she proclaimed she was "sick".
And that's why Da Hee is on the mental breakdown or "sick" because of all of her evil lies in this drama that's guilt tripping her.
Also: When will Sun Ho wake up? Next week? It would be a nice mother's day weekend gift for his mom if he woke up. Come on writers!
Remember when this drama had some comedy. Ah good times being in the light. Now it's just pretty dark but still really interesting as the story continues to be revealed.
Midway or a little before halfway of the drama series, the story was going on at a good pace and I thought this may be the first daily drama I actually would enjoy but boy was I wrong. I just finish episode 69 and it's just so draggy and uninteresting now (really this whole week). Stalling after stalling of secrets, villains continue to get their way, leads continue to suffer and have no justice. I know there's 31 episodes left but at least show some progression in one of many conflicts that's left to solved. I think I'm gonna drop it for now until somebody tells me something good happens with the leads or one of the villains will be punished or when it reaches episode 90 to see where the situation is.
