ah I can't recall that part. Need to re-watch. The scene they shared together in the rain (ep11) was beautiful. FL executed the shy-flirtatious act so well when she said "take your time (to think)". Feel bad for the ML at this point, he's so in love and she's being hot and cold.
Deciding which one to watch. The winner is love? Or The legend of the awakening? Both have mixed reviews.
Both dramas start out strong but lose steam halfway through. Legend of Awakening is comparable to the last season of Game of Thrones - rushed ending with so many plot holes. Felt like they went over budget and couldn't afford to film any more quality scenes.
Winner is Love is ok. Leo seems to be the main attraction for most viewers here. Problem is that their dialogue is...*yawn* And there are a lot of yawning moments.
Episode 11 now. What's a wuxia courtship without Lantern Festival and wardrobe makeover? I like and empathize…
Are you talking about the conversation they had in the rain? I felt the ML had pent-up feelings for FL but he didn’t outright declare his love at this point yet. He spoke of his dream to open up a clinic and how he’ll buy clothing for his wife with the money he earns. He then asked if FL “wanted to…..” but did not elaborate further as he lost courage.
I'm not sure if I would change your mind but I'll tell you this. The drama is weird because it has two separate…
Thanks for taking the time to review this for me. I liked the premise and thought it had potential; but I couldn't get past episode 1 and I don't think I will ever warm up to her type of acting. Your review has confirmed my decision to drop this. I'll read a novel instead =)
I'm a fan of angsty or melodramatic romance but willing to watch any type of romance even mindless, fluffy ones…
Tragic?? I have limited exposure to Zhou Ting Wei as an actor but in the ones that I've seen, he never gets his way. He has that nice guy look - but as you know, nice guys finish last =P

I'm fine with love and first sight with the right premise. As you've alluded to, the relationship needs to be slow cooked, not microwaved on high heat.
The childhood memory was the spark but I feel what really drove him to fall in love with her was the part where she saved him and went through a life and death situation together.
And yes! i totally smell something brewing between Wen Si Yuan and She Man Qing. Not sure if you're there yet, but a couple scenes come to mind that builds anticipation for this relationship.
Where are you watching it? I only found 10 episodes :/
Assuming you require subs? I watch on Kissasian but not all episodes are subbed - I enjoy the benefit of understanding Chinese so i just watch the raw version.
They say never judge a book by its cover. I have failed to do so here as I stopped after just watching the intro to the first episode. I was afraid my brain cells would plan a coup if i continued any longer.
Ep. 15. This drama is definitely aimed at a more mature audience. The serious tone and intelligent plot is its strength. The ML and FL development potential is massive. We don't know if ML will be a weakling for life; how the FL's martial arts will develop - presumably she will be powerful; and how the ML and FL romance plot will develop.
I've been critical of the romance story in other dramas because I dislike the excessive devotion the FL has for the ML, or vice versa. and hence throws all logic out the window. The love story then cycles through misunderstandings, reunion, more misunderstandings, more affirmations, exaggerated sacrifices for one another, and finally they end up together or die. This drama sets the pace right by getting the leads to develop initial feelings but unsure of each other's intention; balancing one's feelings with life's circumstances; and finally, portraying a mature and strong FL who seemingly handles her emotions wisely.
Also no fluff talk yet. All conversations so far have drawn me in to listen and was critical to the story. I had to pause and rewind a few times because I was distracted and missed a point in the conversation which turned out to be an important component.
THIS DRAMA has two bad thing. 1. Really really bad director. 2. Beautiful cute BAD actress. She has modes. Angry…
Agree. As I watch more C-dramas, I just have to let certain things slide for the sake of the story's progression. The imperial advisor had to be framed and executed. To make this plot free of holes, they would have to dedicate significant resources to this. They'd need a full investigation, involvement of the emperor, presentation of evidence, and an opportunity for the advisor to defend himself. All this will take time and money to film.
