Wow ... the old witch ruined her son n daughter's marriage with her old fixed thinking and character. Best part…
The way she 'fainted' when ML turned up in the apartment was very telling about her character. She clearly uses every type of manipulation to control the family.
Yes, I was unimpressed with the aunt. You would think she'd want the kids to get away from that woman's grasp.
This is such an excellent article. I haven't watched most of the rage inducers and will steer well clear for now, since Reality is trying hard to win in that category as we speak. Thank you once again for such an enjoyable read.
Today's episodes were so satisfying. Right from the opening scene in episode 20 where FL tried to kiss him and Mingxuan stands on tiptoe. So funny! His mini smiles are so flutter-inducing...
Also, Mingxuan's conversation with his mum (that woman...). You tried this business marriage three years earlier, and where did that get you? And then telling his dad to handle his wife because she is hitting people. Such a casual way to put the woman in her place. SMH at her telling a grown man who is running a global company that he can't choose his own wife.
And of course, Xueling is enjoying her spa day, thinking the company would collapse without her and her plagiarist assistant. Pffft. Total respect to Mingxuan for showing us how the boss handles matters by pulling an overnighter to put everything right and then going to set things right with Xueling. I may have applauded.
Goodness! I can't stress enough how much I have enjoyed live-watching this drama. What a superb show. Every actor was solid to exceptional, the overall production was excellent and the OTP was simply wonderful (GTY was a treat to watch and Ming Lan must be one of the best Female Leads I've had the pleasure to experience in any drama). The Viki subbers were absolutely brilliant with their dedication to fantastic speedy subtitles.
This is the first time I've felt the need to immediately rewatch a drama to capture what I might have missed in the early episodes. I'm utterly spoilt for the foreseeable future.
Thanks to everyone on here as well for all your commentaries that added so much to the shared experience.
Totally agree with your review. I tried this show after watching Twenty Again, where I really enjoyed the male lead. I liked the first handful of episodes but soon realised the mains looked alternately bored and/or miserable, and the marginally interesting side characters couldn't justify my pressing the play button. Into the dropped pile it went.
